Speeds up your internet
I had an issue where my internet would slow down over the span of a week. Then I’d reset the modem and router and it would be screaming fast again. I never got a good explanation from the tech support for the modem or router but there was clearly an issue. This timer made the reset easy and smooth. I had it reset every morning at 3am so it didn’t impact anything I was doing and then the internet was perfect all day. I didn’t need it to reset everyday but I’d rather have it do it automatically on a daily basis rather than have to remember to do it every day at a time that wouldn’t impact anyone in the house. The 2 minute delay between the modem and the router made sure the reboot synced up perfectly. It halos has a battery backup so it wouldn’t lose time if there was a power outage. I never checked to see if the timer power cycled during a power outage but it doesn’t really matter since the modem and router lost power anyhow.

It Works, But Functionality is Limited for the Price
This unit is designed to do one simple job, power cycle a modem and router once per day. For that purpose it works well, but the functionality is extremely limited and for the price I think NetReset could have done better.First of all this unit is very easy to set up and use. Just set the clock and the time of day that you want the reset to happen. That's it. If you want the easiest solution to reset your modem and router once per day and do not want any other functionality, this unit is perfect. For less money you can get the same functionality of this unit plus additional functionality that this unit does not offer by using two inexpensive digital timers, for example Woods 50007 Indoor Digital Lamp Timer, Daily Settings, 2-Pack . Just program the router timer to come on two or three minutes after the modem. The positive thing about using this NetReset unit instead of digital timers is that it will always power the modem and router on in proper sequence because it runs on only one clock. Using two digital timers with separate clocks may eventually result in their clocks going out of sync at some point and you may not always get the perfect power cycle. One thing that is missing from this unit that you can do with digital timers is have "off" time. For example, with digital timers you can program them to turn your modem and router off when you are sleeping, then back on before you are awake. It would be great if NetReset would consider adding something like that to a future update to this product. This unit does appear to perform a proper power cycle in the event of a power failure, so you could achieve "off" time with this unit by plugging it into an inexpensive timer, but it would be nice to have the functionality built in.Another thing that this unit is missing is a manual power cycle function. Even with an automatic reset once per say, sometimes you still need to power cycle in the middle of the day. The only way to make that happen is to unplug the unit and then plug it back in. I would like to have a button that I can press at any time to power cycle the modem and router.Given the simplicity and limitations of this unit, I think it is overpriced. I hope we see NetReset bring out a new model with additional functionality and drop the price of this unit.To summarize:Pros:+ Automates a power cycle once per day at a set time+ Very easy to set up, user friendly simplicity+ Performs it's one task perfectly+ Power cycle will always happen in the proper sequence+ Performs a proper power cycle after a power failureCons & Considerations:- No manual/on-demand power cycle function, only automated once per day- No scheduled "off" time- Expensive for what it is, two inexpensive digital timers can do the same job and more

No instructions in the box!
There's absolutely no instructions in or on the box. You open the box, and there's a little card with a web address for installation. That's a bit irritating -- but it's VERY irritating if you already unplugged your modem and router, and have to plug 'em back in and wait for cycle-up, just to read the instructions. And, if you misplace the card like I did, add the time and frustration of trying to find it, because that's the only place with the web address. The installation is ridiculously simple. They could have printed the entire instruction set on the little card, or on the box, or even on the device itself, but they didn't.Installation instructions:1) Press "clock," and set the time.2) Press "prog," and set the reset time. Press "clock" to finish. Default setting is 3 a.m., so this step really isn't necessary.3) Plug the modem into the outlet marked "mod," the router into the outlet marked "rou," and the whole unit into an AC outlet. You're done.Super easy. Why can't they include it in the box? Also, I'll have to figure out how to confirm that it actually resets every day.

Too short switching time.
The time off between components is too short. It should be set for the modem to fully re-boot before turning on the router. On occasion i have to re-boot the router manually after the fact.

Does what it is supposed to do, but not very durable.
Worked initially, but now acting up. Gets really warm when in use, and now the screen is difficult to read. Working with seller to figure this out, will update.Update 4/4/2023. Was able to get a refund, but watch out buyers! The item was listed as new, but actual item sent was dated 6/2018 on the packaging label. So you are getting old stock, NOT new. A business card was in the box, with the company website, contact info, etc. … all out of date and not able to contact the company. Looks like Net Reset is 100% out of business, with no way to get a new one, and no way to contact the company directly. Buyer beware, would NOT recommend! You are getting old, and unsupported equipment, only good thing to say … full refund was provided. Marc

good while it lasted
I've had this device about 18 months. I started having some internet connection problems that were restored by rebooting the modem and router. After a few times of this I began wondering if my Netreset was working properly. Observed it a couple of times and noted that the modem was not being rebooted. I hit the factory reset button and set up the device again for more resting and the modem still wouldn't reboot. I can't really say how long it ran properly before problems began arising but at some point it did fail. I think I've spotted some cheaper alternatives on Amazon so will give one of them a try. I also gave two of these as gifts so now I wonder if my recipients are having any problems.

Great solution for a security system in a remote location, like a vacation property, for example.
Installed a security system at my cottage and needed to know it would still be operational after a power failure/outage. It powers up my modem and, 2 minutes later, my router and gets the security system back on line just a few minutes after the power comes back on. Love it!
