This alarm clock was an excellent purchase. First of all, one cannot buy it in a regular store. The cat looks great, unusual and my daughter loved it in pink. The alarm tune can be chosen from five available melodies. The clock can be set for 12 hours or 24 hours cycle. I personally prefer 24 hours. In 12 hours cycle no AM and PM available that means that your alarm will sound twice a day, but in 24 hours cycle it naturally only sounds when it was intended to. That is very important to keep the instructions the clock came with, like previous reviews noted. You can set, reset, turn on and off any and all options for this clock with the instructions. One of the reviews said that clock announces the time every hour. That is correct, but that option can be turned off, which I did with ease. The bottom line the clock works great, just a way it suppose to without any problems, so my 8-years old daughter gets up for school by herself exactly when I want her too.

I decided to buy this clock for my ten-year old daughter. She thought it was the cutest thing ever and hugged me as hard as she could. My four-year old son is now mad, so I might buy him a black one. The instructions that came with it make it easier to operate it. I have hers set on the function where it announces the hour until 9:00 P.M. (you don't want the thing announcing the hours when someone is sleeping because it is loud). The clock plays different classical songs, beeps, or goes "Whoo-hoo!" as an alarm and has been pretty effective at waking her up for school. You can also wiggle the tail to turn off the alarm or get the clock to tell you the current time and temperature, and it lights up. For any young child that is into kittens and something that lights up and talks, this cute, little clock will be an instant hit. It doesn't plug up though and takes AA batteries but that is not a big deal to me. Rechargeable batteries will solve that issue.

There will be no falling back asleep with this one! It takes some smarts to keep up with how to set & turn off the alarm setting (I keep the instructions right next to it.) When I try to turn it off, it usually attempts to set another time. Turn turn off the alarm function all together, it takes awhile (don't try doing this while half asleep!). Love the light up function. Voice is pleasant enough, but kind of loud for the talking part. Adorable kitty. Apparently it has numerous language options too...

This product is very cute. However, I found it very difficult to program/set. For some unknown reason, this product seems to have a mind of its own. It goes off by itself sometimes! The first time this occured it literally frighten my young daughter who believed in was a Ghost of some kind. For this reason, I removed the batteries from the clock. Today, it serves as a nice decorative piece affix to my daughter's desk in her room.

It worked find, overall, but it eats up batteries too quickly. I ended up having to change the batteries and reset the cat close to once a week. Also the temperature gauge always read like, 77 degrees no matter what my A/C was set to. Ok if you don't mind having to deal with buying up truckloads of batteries and playing with it every week.

My daughter loves her new clock. Only one problem: there's no am and pm, so if you set your alarm it will go off at night too.

This is a poor choice for an alarm clock. The time display does not light up unless it accompanies a loud voice that says the time. So you can't just glance at the time in the middle of the night. The instructions are obviously poorly translated from some other language & incomplete.

I expected more for the price. It was cute, I'm sure my granddaughter liked it, but didn't show that much excitement. The sound quality was just ok. I'd classify it as more of a toy, not a clock for a ten year old.
