Stations are thicker, fork operates smoothly, its pretty lightweight, much lighter than the stock fork!! It is nice to have the springs, not a fan of messing with air on a shock. It came with a new star nut, which is nice. Packaging is excellent. Comes with a sticker (my 5 year old immediately put on that his bike lol). Install was easy, took me about 30 minutes. Used a pipe cutter on the fork instead of hacksaw, cut was nice and strait but the aluminum is a little weird to cut with pipe cutter, would use hacksaw next time after that experience. Very happy customer! Review: Perfect Replacement For Forks with No Lockout - A little shorter tube then what I was replacing but my what a difference in performance. They are great quality, havent used them on any major jumps but Im not sure they arent made for jumps anyways. There are bosses on the back of the left leg for disk brakes. **Q: Do the v brake mounts come off? because i don't need them** A: I'm a bike mech.. to clarify for others: the V-brake mounting studs *do* unscrew, you need an 8mm wrench and they will be very tight, as they are installed with red Loctite. Then you will be left with only the mounting plates. Then you can obtain blank rubber plugs or do what I did- just use black stick-on furniture dots! 😁 **Q: Does it need fork oil inside?** A: it is coil and oil; therefore it already contains the oil needed. **Q: Is this coil spring, or air? Or air over coil?** A: It's a coil, but for day-to-day use it works quite well. Yeah, there are better shocks out there for 10X the cost, but if you just want a decent shock to take the bumps out of riding down gravel roads or rolling through wooded trails this is great. I installed this on my 2004 Trek 4300 and it was a perfect fit. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Very Nice Entry Level Fork *by L***5 on January 18, 2021* I put this on a 20 year old Litespeed Titanium frame as the time had come to swap out the original fork. I don't really do off road on this bike anymore and mostly use it for a bike path/bike lane trainer on my rides with my wife. The fork is an excellent value in my opinion. Weighs only a little more than the original ($600 at the time) 80mm fork. I really like the lockout feature and cranked the preload down to avoid "bounce". Note that it is 100mm so it threw off my position a little but no big deal. If you have a damaged fork or simply want one that won't break the bank and will be fine for recreational level road, gravel, or MTB riding, I believe this is a good choice. Similar models from other makers were about $70 to $100 more and the really nice ones (Fox, etc.) can be $500 or more.
