My down spouts go into drain pipes that run 150-175' to the creek so I use both these and screens over the gutters. If my drain pipes get clogged, it's a real pain to clean them out. With both the screens and these, I don't have a problem. Hope that helps ... **Q: I have a 4 inch gutter and 6inch gutter will this work thanks in advance** A: The guard is 9" long, 3" wide and 3 5/16" high (not counting tube that fits into downspout). It will fit both 4" and 6" gutters.
