Not your typical "Bollywood" movie. Virtuoso performances with the actors going through their scenes showing determined prowess in their moves....but no stereotypical B'wood dance numbers that sometimes take over the movie. And not your typical "Dangal" movie these women changed the face of Indian wrestling and just as important Indian society.
Review: WRESTLING! - Great peek into another culture with the universal appeal of competition. English subtitles are mandatory, so your eyes will be juggling the visuals and the on-screen lines. On the other hand, hearing the actual language and intonation of the dedicated cast makes the story truly breathe. Especially the younger two girls who perform in the first half of the film. After an intermission the final half of the film continues with teen-aged actors. I found the younger kids the ones I delighted in the most as they suffer the initial hardships of the father’s obsessive coaching. Their mother does a fine balance act of mediating for her two girls while staying within the cultural bounds of a wife’s traditional role. Some of the second act was a little plodding, but once this invested in the film I needed to experience the outcomes of competition. This story is based on actual occurrence, summed up w documentary snapshots and captions prior to credits. Lots of struggles seasoned with incidental humor, your family/friends may appreciate being invited over to enjoy your home screening. The extra dvd is fun to watch but there’s no subtitles (big mistake). You can watch how the father character trained to look buff in his younger years. In the film he starts out young and fit, then proceeds to lose his tone in retirement as he begins to live out his gold medal wrestling dreams thru his daughters’ competition. This film has a genuine quality that is not often reached in portrayals of American families, thanks to the fine work of both the director and the actor portraying the dad.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This is truly a great movie experience
*by F***G on September 24, 2017*

This is truly a great movie experience. Based on a true story, this film is a "must see". It is about a man's dedication to wrestling and wanting to leave a legacy to the sport he loves. But, he only has daughters, not the son he wanted to carry on in his steps. A remarkable film, you will be glad you watched.
