Babar's Museum of Art

Babar and family books were a favorite of my children and now my grandchildren. This book has wonderful and educational text and pictures.

One book out of two was damaged. The front cover had a dent, and two pages inside were glued together. When I separated them (gently with a butter knife), one area stuck, and a little bit of one page stuck to the next. Both of these books were gifts. I already gave one away and didn’t notice the other was damaged. I cannot return the order because I don’t have both books. The books are beautiful and of high quality. I have ordered others with no problem.

My favorite kids book!! I've owned it since my early 20s - LLLOOOOONG before even considering having kids. I'm an art historian and I find it adorable and an incredible way to get kids interested in art and developing a visual vocabulary that includes some of the most famouse works of art. And it never fails to make ME laugh, seeing elephants in place of humans in works like the Arnolfini Marriage Portrait or Les Demoiselles d'Avignon!! Babar books have always been a favorite of mine and this one is the best of them all!! I always include it in my baby shower gifts!!

I got this book for a baby shower gift. Guests were asked to bring their favorite childhood book. I remember loving this book as a child, not only b/c I loved the Babar character, but the all the pictures are amazing and fun in this book. When I got the book in the mail, I sat down and re-red the book for the first time since I was child (years and years later I might add...). The book was better than in real life than my memory did it justice. Not only were the pictures fantastic, but the story line was fun too. It teaches kids to appreciate art and to use their imagination when looking at art. Art is what you make of it and different to each person. Overall, fantastic book! Highly recommend for a young child.

I give this book five stars for content; it's a delightful way to introduce children to art, and adults will find plenty of amusing touches as well.Unfortunately, neither of the two copies I ordered included the "free pull-out poster," which has been the complaint of other reviewers. That it should have been included with the book I confirmed by examining a copy at a local art museum. Why it is missing so often here is worrisome. I needed to get the books shipped as gifts, so I did not bother to return them, but I will say the experience left an unfavorable impression. I would like to have lopped a couple of stars off my rating because of it -- but that would not have been fair to a great book.

This is a favorite gift to give at baby showers. Fun illustrations incorporating Babar in famous paintings. It combines three things I love, reading, art, and elephants!

Arrived quickly and in great shape. Like New. It's fun to see these famous painting from Barbar and his families point of reference. It is also fun to find the original paintings and compare to the ones in the book. It presents an opportunity for families to discuss art work and artist.

A wonderful children's book that introduces famous works of art in an amusing and enjoyable fashion!

わたしは絵本を購入しようと思ってこの本を買ったのですが、実はノートブック（日記用？）でした。表紙や裏表紙にはBabarの絵がありますが、中は白紙（うすくBabarの絵が描いてあるだけ）です。絵本の方はハードカバーのBabar's Museum of Art（ISBN: 0810945975）です。お間違えなく。ハードカバーの「その他のエディション」として内容の異なる「リング製本」（この本）が紹介されている点、ハードカバーと同じ英語のレビューが掲載されているのは、まぎらわしくて問題だと思います。わたしは返品しました。でも、Babarの好きな人へのプレゼントには使えるかもしれません。

Ich habe das Buch als Geschenk für mein Kind bestellt. Leider ist das via Prime als „neu“ deklarierte Buch sicherlich benutzt (siehe Foto von den Gebrauchsspuren am Einband). Außerdem stimmt die Beschreibung nicht. Es soll ein aufklappbares Poster enthalten sein, was für mich den hohen Preis gerechtfertigt hätte. Dieses Poster ist nicht enthalten, es fehlt. Wir sind enttäuscht, denn wir hatten uns auf das Poster von Barbar sehr gefreut. Ich werde das Buch retournieren und dann gern ein Feedback zum Retourprozess abgeben. Käufer sollten aber wissen, dass sie hier nicht unbedingt das beschriebene „neue“ Produkt erhalten.

Such a fun book, & good to try & identify the original paintings. Our granddaughter will be in Paris soon, so we bought this for her, she might be able to identify some of the actual paintings at the Musee D'Orsay & the Louvre.

Beautiful book in excellent condition including the pullout poster.
