Easy replacement for earlier model
This was an easy replacement for my MC612 damaged by lightning. The wiring tabs are in different locations but it's easy to make the new connections by comparing the wiring diagrams etched on the sides of each one. The battery sense (-) connection is not used on the new one so just leave that wire disconnected.

Regulator for sailboat
Boat this regulator as an upgrade from the 612 version. Works really good on my Hunter 420 sailboat.

Usability, in my opinion, is horrendous
Once I figured out how to install and use this device on my 36' sailboat, it seems to be working extremely well. HOWEVER, the documentation is extremely confusing to say the least, and you will need to spend many hours scouring the internet for information on how to best program this device for your particular installation. I give this product 0 stars for usability and 5 stars for its performance once it's finally installed and programmed.My message to Balmar - you need to completely revamp the documentation for this product, if not the entire user interface.
