BT-88C Citronella Automatic Anti Bark Spray Stop Barking Dog Training Collar - excludes Citronella Spray

This collar actually works on my big dog, he has definitely learned not to bark unless absolutely needed! We were so surprised that it worked! We even bought one for our little dog too! The only bad thing is the battery life doesnt last long and that it sprays when he whines cause he’s excited to see someone but other then that it does wonders!

I'd been successfully using the PetSafe citronella collar and thought I'd try this brand since one had to be replaced. Worked great for about 6 months... then whenever I tried to fill it with citronella, the stuff would go in, but immediately ooze out of the sides of the unit. I tried contacting the company thru it's web site and got NO reply. Product that doesn't work + bad customer service = I'm out. Even tried the new collars that beep and vibrate... dogs loved them and had a party making their collars beep and vibrate. Going back to the PetSafe spray collars.

Works perfectly. We have a dog that literally barks at the leaves falling from the trees... The birds firing by... Everything. This put a stop to it. She's smart enough to know, however, that if she's not wearing it, she can bark without being sprayed. It will sometimes spray her for scratching or jumping down on the floor as well.... But when you have a sleeping baby and a dog that waits until you're in the bathroom to start barking because she knows you can't get onto her from in there, you don't care if it misfires sometimes.The real drawback to this particular model is that one of our box's battery covers wouldn't stay on. It's lost somewhere in the great outdoors most likely. I stole the cover off of the second box and taped it on this time. Fortunately we only have need for one at a time. We bought two because we've had several (if another brand) quit working. Overall, these are a sanity-saver!

I love this product. It's not a shock collar. There's no guilt in using it IF YOU HAVE TO. The first one I bought, I was wary. My dog barked incessantly & we were moving from a house with a large yard and no houses nearby. But in our NEW place, I was thinking OMG, we'll be tossed out! So I ordered this. It came, I set it up (very simple, just put a battery in it and load it with the citronella from the can). I love my dog so, so much. I'd die if I ever hurt him in any way, so the first thing I did was to bark into it myself. Immediately, I felt a little sting to my eyes. I tested it a few more times and waited to see if my eyes were OK. The slight sting didn't last long. I used it on my dog while also using my voice command: "Quiet!" When he disobeyed me, and barked anyway, I showed him this and said "COLLAR!" I put it on him, still barking, and after it was on him & turned on and he barked, "Spritz!" He seemed surprised, as I repeated "Quiet!" He quieted right down, and showed no signs of trauma. It only took one spritz. He simply didn't bark again. After an hour, I took it off of him & he remained quiet! The NEXT time he started a barking episode, I got this out. I said, "I'm going to get the COLLAR!" I can only say that just SEEING it caused him to stop barking. He wasn't afraid (no shaking or hiding). It was Pavlovian. And after only ONE time of having worn it! During subsequent barking episodes, I'd give the "QUIET!" command, and, again, show him the "COLLAR!" And, again, he'd stop barking upon just seeing the collar and hearing me say "COLLAR!" After 3 of those episodes, we - my husband and I - didn't even need to show the collar to him, but rather to simply say "QUIET! Or I'll get the COLLAR!" And, lo and behold, he'd just stop barking. I'd encourage users to rule out any causes for the barking before using this, e.g., making sure he's not trying to tell you he needs a potty break. Or he's barking at a stranger at the door. To use it at times like that isn't fair to your dog. But as a training tool to easily get your dog to be QUIET, this is the greatest! After 6 mos, when he'd revert to his old habit and not listen to the QUIET command, we'd put the collar on him, and do the same as above. It's always been effective. After awhile, we lost or misplaced it, and now just say QUIET! And if necessary, "Do you want the COLLAR?" He knows. But we recently rescued a Norwich Terrier. Don't know his background, but he's a terrier and a barker! So we ordered another one, and have enjoyed the exact same success as described above. It's a great & safe product that sure has helped us and our dogs!

I'm giving this 2 stars instead of 1, because it really did do what it was supposed to. It stopped my dog from barking. However, the battery cover come off. I emailed them for support, and they mailed me new ones (yay)!. But then it stopped holding spray - wouldn't fill, the spray just leaked out all over me. I emailed for support, and they emailed me back 4-5 times, suggesting things I could try to to fix it. They told me to open it up, adjust some things, wipe down the circuit board, etc. I kept asking them to replace it, since those things didn't work. Eventually - they stopped responding.In other words, they didn't honor the warranty - they ignored me. I emailed them 3 more times, no response.It also doesn't hold up very well in use. I put it on an active puppy. The battery cover fell off, and the collar fell off the dog. It might work better on your more sedentary dog. Or if you do put it on an active dog, tape up the battery cover and tie it on the dog - don't expect the buckle to hold.So here's what I think: The product works, but it is poor quality and if it breaks don't expect them to honor the warranty. If you buy it, either return it within the Amazon return period, or plan to throw it out if / when it breaks. No warranty. It's a disposable 3-4 week solution. That might be ok for many users.

We have bought three of these now. They work fabulously until they break and begin to leak around the sides and won’t hold the liquid when you attempt to refill them or they just stop functioning. They really turn out to be a disposable solution. 😞 The first one lasted about a year, the second one only 7 months and the third the longest of all at 16 months.

I would give this product no-stars if that was an option. I replaced this item 3 times and I’m over it...cutting my losses and going for a different product. It’s far too sensitive - my dogs would shake or scratch and the sensor would response and spray. Because I’d this I had to refill the citronella almost every day. Also the seams weren’t sealed. After a couple weeks they started leaking citronella rendering the product useless. With the last one I thought I could superglue the seams. But when it dried it created even more leaks!!! Don’t waste your money!!!

So similar to one I used that has been discontinued, half the price & does the job 👍 very happy 😃
