Pros:1) Overall works well and great solution compared to buying a larger capacity USB or a m.2 nas.2) Nice feeling rugged case. Have travelled with m.2 and it keeps them secure. Even came with a cooling pad but didn't install as swapping nvmes.3) easy to use plugin in play solution compared to buying m.2 nas storage4) affordable for the price, compact and can travel with easy.Cons:1) cooling solution not great would be useful if it had a fan/heatsink inbuilt but for the price you can't complain.2) the m.2 securing notch is a bit janky.Overall value for money.

An NVMe SSD works faster than a SATA SSD. You buy this enclosure and an NVMe SSD card, fit it inside and then plug it into your computer. It functions like a USB stick, except much faster and is ideal for storing video files, which is what I bought it for. Some SSD enclosures are made of plastic. This one is made of better aluminium. Whereas copying a video file from the computer to a UBS stick would take ages, this process only takes a few seconds using an NVMe SSD card inside this enclosure. You can use an enclosure like this to create a boot drive with Rufus for trying LInux distros. Be aware that you cannot install Windows on a USB drive directly. You can however remove an NVMe from your computer with pre-installed Windows on it and install it in an enclosure and boot from it for testing purposes. Be aware that this particular enclosure only accepts NVMe SSDs and does not take SATA SSDs which are an outdated, but still available specification. You can get enclosures that will accept both SATA and NVMe SSDs. SATA SSDs differ from NVMe SSDs in that SATA SSDs have two slots at the connector end whereas NVMe SSDs only have the single slot. This enclosure accepts the latter type of NVMes. Be sure to order the correct type of SSD for your enclosure.

Does exactly what it says on the tin.I use it for large video files & suits my purpose fine.Reached real world speeds of 900 MB/sec read & 650 MB/sec write (about what I expected).Using a Crucial P3 M.2 NVMe (but it's performance can suffer from sustained continuous use).No point in any faster M.2 NVMe , or more expensive, as the caddy is the limiting factor.Just a reminder, you need to connect to at least a 10Gbps port on your PC/laptop.Got warm, but never hot with my use.

I ordered this along with a 2TB NVMe chip and despite what some had been saying in other reviews, this is a great enclosure. I had the NMVe in the enclosure clipped into place with the rubber swivel clamp and added the heatsink pad to the top. This was easily done with the clear instructions supplied,. The neat silicone external cover is really good as it stops the enclosure from sliding off. I have mine on a glass table and it stays in place well. Good set of sturdy cables supplied, both C-C and A-C USB. Transfer rates are as expected. I can now travel with a backup drive too.

Hi, the following review is solely my opinion based on my recent purchase of it: I found the video of it on their website to be easy to follow. I had two of the NVMe drives to fit my PC and one was the OS. the connectors easily fitted and a small piece of plastic with a flange is then inserted at the base. To secure the other end, was gained by turning the plastic piece so that the flange covered the tip base of the SSD. Then a rectangle keeps the SSD in place from above, and the whole is reconstructed. There were 2 cables with it with different endings. It worked well in the PC. I intend to buy another one.

I would actually award 0 stars if I could.I bought 2 of these through Amazon - 1 in November 2024 & 1 in January 2025 as I thought, after purchasing the 1st one, that this was a fantastic product and so easy to install the m.2 drive.I have not used the caddy's often: the 1st I have used 3 times and the 2nd drive once.They have been kept on a shelf on my desk when not in use so have been kept extremely safe and secure.I needed to use drive inside the caddy I bought in November 2 days ago & my laptop said the drive was currupt. Windows asked if I wanted to reformat the drive and when I accepted it wouldn't format it.I have since tried it on a pc and the same thing happens.I have now installed the m.2 drive in another caddy and the drive still works perfectly.The same thing has happened with the m.2 drive in the second caddy too.I am very disappointed in your product and with 2 of them having gone wrong with very little use. I have emailed the company to tell them how disappointed I was and to ask for a refund. I will update if I receive one.

I bought this for a Samsung 960 EVO 256GB that was lying around unused and am very glad I did. Installation of the SSD is very simple and, indeed, tool-less. The SSD is securely mounted inside when done. The drive is smart looking and I like the rubbery outside bit. First test of a 4GB video file saw speeds of nearly 900GB/s, but using the right port and an appropriately rated cable is of course absolutely necessary, so that 4GB file only took about 4 seconds to transfer which for an old boy like me is just insanely good.Very pleased with this purchase.
