Great devotion for Lent
The language is a bit archaic and there are editions that have contemporary language. A beautiful reflection on the love of Jesus for us and our expression of love for him.

Meditative
For Penance I was asked to pray the Stations of the Cross. This is so much more meaningful to me than three Hail Marys and an Our Father. The words are so beautiful.

The same prayers we said in grade school.
A wonderful prayer booklet to use for praying the Stations of the Cross. These are the same prayers we used in grade school every Friday.

Memories
I was looking for a Stations of the Cross book, and was totally and pleasantly surprised when I opened it. It is exactly like the one I used when I was in school. I am so glad I got it on my kindle reader: now I will have it with me all the time. Has other prayers and meditation also. I really love this book!!

Returning to the Old!
The parishioners of our parish have asked to return to a more traditional form of the Stations of the Cross. We have been using John Paul II's Biblical Way of the Cross for at least two years now, but these do not follow the stations in the traditional format (as they are mounted on the Church walls), but rather in a format that's supplied by the Gospels. The people have grown tired of this and prefer the other. This Saint Alphonsus de Liguori edition is about as traditional as people may want. It was initially published in 1903. So, anyone alive today would remember these from when they were growing up.

Old-time wording, applicable even today
This reminds me of the standard old-time Stations I learned to pray years ago. I love its context, just have to get past the old-fashioned wording. But although it's slow going to pull all the meaning out because of the non-modern phrasing, sometimes I like that a lot-- slowing me down, having to really concentrate on the beauty of the meditations.

Smaller and cheaper-quality than expected
The prayers are there, but the print is small since they made the booklets smaller. Overall quality has downgraded than from 10 years ago. I would've spent a few bucks more if I knew it was the same quality as junk-booklets you get in the mail...
