A WEE BIT OF A LEARNING CURVE
I like it and it works quite well. However, the instructions suck and it does have a wee bit of a learning curve. If not for that, I'd give it five stsrs

I got this for my newly set up fish tank to have the lights set to a certain time of day so I dont have to worry about being home to turn them on or off.At first when I plugged it in there was nothing on the display and I thought it was defective. In the instructions it says to let it stay plugged in for about 10 minutes to charge up. I let it charge for almost a half hour and still nothing on the screen. I was all but ready to complain and send it back when I just happen to press the "clock" button and everything came on the screen. This was a "DUH" moment, although should have been clearer in the manual.Setting it up was very simple and stated clearly in the manual. I like that I can set up to 10 presets so if I want the lights to come on only for a little bit in morning and then night I can do that. There is also a random setting which would be good for house lights when youre away that nobody thinks theres actually a schedule and youre always home.I have an old pin-style programmable outlet also that Ive been using for about 10 years. Its reliable and easy but whenever theres a power outage I have to reset the time and if Im away, that can really throw off the fishies. With this one, it actually stores energy to keep the time set properly if the power goes out. I really like that.

Easy to use
Have used 3 of them for one vacation. Seemed to work fine. Need some more experience with them. They were easy to set up.

Tried several times to program several times to no avail ,screen is dark. Should have sent back , but was on vacation.

I'm sure there could have been an easier interface, but it certainly isn't difficult just a lot of button pressing if you are doing a 7-Day schedule. The instructions included give you plenty information to get it set up the way you want. There's also settings for random intervals if you leave town to appear like someone's home. All in all does everything I need it to and more, and work as good as any other I've had.
