Way better the a traditional leather hole puncher!

I originally purchased this kit to use to attach leather handles to the bags that I make. But I soon realized that the included rivets were too small to go through the layers that I needed and hold. So I put it aside and ordered some longer rivets.In the meantime, I decided to do some decorative riveting on the bag in the photos and I found the instructions to be easy to follow and the project turned out fine. You do have to use a block of wood or a hard surface to hammer on, so don't skimp.I also practiced using the snaps, which is a little trickier but there are lots of good YouTube videos out there that show you how to do it. It works.Punching the holes is difficult for me because I have arthritis in my hands and a weak grip, but I managed.Having the rivet set available has given me lots more ideas for projects I can make for my Etsy store, CosmicCheetah.

This kit has everything needed to start leather riveting. The rotating hole punch is sturdy and has great options for hole sizes, and the mallet and reamer included are great as well. Not only does the kit come with all of the supplies, but it also comes with clear instructions on how to use the parts of the kits to rivet. I’ve purchased all of these items separately in the past, so to find them all in one kit is an amazing value.

Used for the first time today. Punched a hole in my daughters belt. It did a great job. But I have terrible arthritis in my hands. It took a lot of strength to punch it thru and hurt my hands. It took both of my hands. I bought it originally for my crafting but haven’t used it yet for that.

The tool itself is very high quality and works extremely well on leather. The included rivets, snaps and fasteners are so so quality control, but there are a lot of them so having a few bad ones doesn't spoil the bunch at all, and the kit is worth it for the tool and hammer alone, especially at this price point.If you need to repair a coat or add a hole to a belt, this tool will do the job with no additional materials required.

This kit was a good buy. The only criticism is that the hardware for attaching is not the best quality

The tools in this kit work, and the included rivets seem to hold up. I've found the provided buttons to be rather malleable, but they serve as strap retainers on backpacks and what not.
