It's Amazon, anyone who's into retro handhelds knows Amazon charges more in exchange for faster delivery. If you order it on Retroid's website, you'll be waiting months to get it in the mail. Order it here and you pay more, but only need to wait like 1 week at the most.

how or where do you download emulators? Does it need a memory card(if so which should be purchased)?

It has emulators pre-installed. I would suggest a memory card but be forewarned that this has a really small screen and no r3 or l3.
