Avalon is the final studio album from Roxy Music. Released in 1982, it offered a smoother, more adult-oriented sound, giving us the now iconic singles, "More Than This," and "Avalon." This vinyl reissue is mastered at half-speed and cut by Miles Showell at Abbey Road Studios. It also features revised artwork with a gloss laminated finish.

A flimsy reissue
Just find yourself an unopened original copy of this fine album there are plenty of them still available.

Fabulous remaster of an already brilliant album
Avalon was a superbly recorded album in the first place but this half speed remaster takes things to another level.There is no surface noise whatsoever with an inky black silence when dropping the stylus into the run in groove. The dynamics on the recording are excellent with details that I have never heard before. This recording is an audiophiles dream. Packaging and cover quality and inner sleeve is also excellent. Highly recommended

No improvement
I have the original vinyl and feel that is not an improvement on that. Three stars purely for the music.Music itself is 5 stars but 2 removed for the issue.

Really impressive vinyl, silent background and dynamic full sound. But it you will love it.
