I purchased this tablet even though there are a lot of bad reviews because I could not believe it was as bad as stated. For the first hour the tablet did nothing but lock up as I was bringing it up. I ended up factory resetting it three times before I realized what I was doing to configure the table was out of phase with what the tablet wanted. I have used this tablet a lot in the two weeks since it arrived and it has not lock up once after correct configuration. This is what needs to be done to correctly configure this tablet out of the box. Power up the device with the adapter plugged in. When the device boots up, go to Settings/ Backup and factory reset the device. When the device comes up, there will be an alert to give apps permissions. Tap it and give the apps permissions to load. Go to Settings/ Display and tap never sleep which you can change once the device has finished its configuration. This is very important because this tablet will lock up if it goes to sleep when it is updating or installing apps and its factory default is to update apps when wireless connects. If you miss this step and it locks up you must factory reset and start from the top. Go to settings again and setup wireless then immediately after go to Settings/ Date and Time and choose your time zone. The tablet is set from the factory to pull time from a time server but not the time zone. It you don’t do this wireless will not function and tablet will lock up and a factory reset will need to be done. Now, go to Settings /Accounts and setup your Google Account. Once all this is done the tablet will start to sync your Google Account. Open the Google Play Store app/My apps and watch while the tablet automatically updates installed apps. It will also auto download and install Google Play Services. Let the tablet do all its factory set downloads and updates while never sleeping. Once the tablet has done all this, your tablet will work just fine and you can change never sleep to whatever suits your needs. If the tablet locks up at any time during configuration you must factory reset and run through this How To again and it will work just fine.

I'm done doing email on the corporate PC!
this is my first venture into the android universe after many years of ios. i needed something simple to bring to work so i could do email and firefox without using the corporate pc. my other option was an amazon fire with all the ads... so i thought i'd give the neutab a spin based on the good reviews. it's no ipad but the s8 is pretty darn good, especially at this price point. it handles firefox and outlook just fine and i can run the whole thing through my vpn. audio and video quality are good, too. i have no complaints about speed and the build quality is very nice. they are even sending me a. free case because i registered the product and wrote this review.some additional comments after using the tablet for a few days... i had to email neutab customer support over the free case issue and they were very responsive... i have noticed that the wifi only works 2.4g not 5g which is still fast enough. the speaker quality is just ok. fine for youtube but i wouldn't recommend it for music... i really like the 8" form factor. it's just the right size for my tired old eyes and easy to hold in one hand.

The NeuTab S8 Android Tablet,a solid budget for anyone looking for an entry level tablet!
The NeuTab S8 is an excellent budget everyday tablet to buy and use, and it's actually the cheapest 8" android tablet for sale on Amazon right now. First things first, here is a quick full rundown of the specs that power the S8 Tablet: - Google Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS (A bit outdated, since Android 7.1 OS is available nowadays, still works just fine for most tasks.) - 8 inch HD IPS display with 1280x800 resolution with 178 degree wide viewing angle - MediaTek MTK8163 64-bit Quad-Core, 4 x 1.3 GHz processor (Medium end on the processor spectrum.) - 1GB DDR3 SDRAM, 16GB Nand Flash built-in storage (Expandable storage with micro SDHC/SDXC memory card up to 256GB!) - HD dual camera (2MP rear camera, standard front camera as well) - Micro USB port for syncing and charging, 3.5mm headphone jack input, built-in microphone - Micro HDMI Type D cable support (not included), Bluetooth 4.0 Support, GPS, G-Sensor - 802.11 b/g/n WiFi support - 4,000 mAh lithium polymer battery, with 8 hour average battery life, up to 12 hour max battery life - Weighs just 11 ouncesWhat's in the box: - NeuTab S8 8" Android Tablet - AC power adapter with micro USB charging cable - Product user manual and Product Registration Card - 1 clear screen protectorOverall, these are respectable tech specs for this tablet, and you should have no issues with general use, such as Internet browsing, emails, news, reading ebooks, etc. The only spec that is underwhelming to me is the 1GB of RAM, that's why some people have issues with the tablet lagging and freezing, as it simply can't hand a lot of apps running at the same time, which is why a task killer app is a must for this tablet. At the end of the day, this is a great choice for someone looking for a solid entry level or budget android tablet that can handle most of your daily, average tablet user needs with no problems. If you are looking for a high end gaming tablet, or a tablet used for intensive multi-tasking, then this tablet is not recommended for you. For around $65, this is a great tablet to buy someone as a gift, especially if the love reading, surfing the web, or just having a digital device with a larger 8" screen to enjoy watching video content without having to look at a much smaller smartphone screen.* Product Manual recommends that you install a Task Killer app from the Google Play store to help make your tablet run faster and smoother by closing all apps running in the background.
