I bought a full sized gravity hook because it looked interesting. After playing with it I decided that it was a fun gadget. I then found a guy making mini gravity hooks. He custom engineered the smaller one with special pins and snap rings. It cost as much as the full size hook but it was worth it. Then I found these gravity hooks. They do not come with the cross piece that my full sized and mini have but that was OK because I had made a huge mistake. I let my grand kids play with the hooks. They like them more than I do. At the price I could buy 2 for less then either of the other hooks had cost me so I ordered a pair.I was really surprised when I got a tracking number from the Russian Federation. I have never purchased anything from Russia. I was beginning to think I would never see them. They stalled out in Moscov (I'm guessing that is how Russians refer to Moscow). But eventually they were delivered. These hooks are really well made. They are smaller then my mini hook which is cool. They work flawlessly and I'm sure the grand kids are going to love them. I will find out in a couple of days when they come to visit from their home state. I was saddened to see they are no longer available (at the time of this review), I was going to buy some more for some nieces and nephews.UPDATE: 3/9/2017I see these are available again. Unfortunately they are asking $30 each more then I paid for the pair I bought. I paid $7.60 each. That is a ridiculous price increase. Definitely not worth it at that jacked up price.

Not practical for much, but well made and fun to play with...We did manage to save a lure that had fallen into a rocky jetty, so I guess it MAY be useful in certain scenarios...

Good quality and durable. Smaller version from rhe normal on and don't have the band's or cross member to complete a grappling hook configuration. But over all a fun item.

this is a high quality gravity hook, but when you make it small enough to fit in a pocket it loses some functionality. I keep it in my car glove box but have not actually had a need for it yet. It could gain a star when it proves itself useful. If you like it buy it.

I have a lot of fun with this and a reel-type keychain. Mostly it's just fun to mess around with, but every now and then, it's a REALLY useful tool to have on you!

Nice small gravity hook, I got it mailed to me from Russia of all places lol. Had to sign paperwork at the post office, Anyways, I been toying with this and found out it is quite useful if you accidently drop small object in hard to get places. So far sitting at my desk I have been able to easily retrieve my keys, writing utensils, and even a magnifying glass that has a 3 inch lenses and a small handle. I have its bigger brother in my EDC kit. I didn't expect too much from it until I started messing with it and could see what it can do. It will easily pick up lite weight object.

In all honesty, this is one of the coolest things I've bought on Amazon. Ive just used it playing around so far but I can see where it would come in handy in many applications. I don't carry it as a keychain, but it does travel with me in my backpack with 10 ft of paracord attached to it
