Economics 101. Try finding this printer for $599. You’ll be waiting a long time. I waited a year to find it in stock anywhere at retail. On restock notification lists everywhere. Hasn’t happened. I was thrilled when I found this and I gladly paid $1,000 for it. I even paid almost $200 more just to get it shipped sooner. I’m happy to report it arrived 3 days sooner than expected. **Q: Price gouging?** A: Its prices gouging because this printer is market at $599 everywhere the lost over seen is $577 at walmart. But epson printers are high demand because its able to be converted into a sublimation machine. They are sold out literally every right now. So those that still have some on hand are jacking the prices up! **Q: Has anyone converted this printer for Sublimination?** A: Yes, you will need to use sublimination ink, just make sure the 1st type of ink you put in the tank is "Sublimination Ink". Another response from "D" is 95% right but I don't agree with "Simply dump the ink that comes..." Save the ink it came with for a different printer like the ET-2720 or any printer that has a tank and if your regular printer takes those pesky, very expensive cartridges most of them have a refillable cartridge or a tank system that can be purchased. A note on the Epson ET-2720 I love it, I'll NEVER buy another printer that uses cartridges only! My ET-2720 sips ink. I've had it for over 2 years & I've printed 876 B/w & 882 color pages and I still have 1/2 a tank of Y, M & C and 3/4 of black left. There's enough of the Y, M, & C color inks left in the bottles to top the tanks off to near 3/4. If you want this printer or the smallest version ET-2720 there is 1 very important thing you will need to know, using regular ink you must print a color page @ least once a week. Make sure it has several colors, don't just change the letters to red or blue. Doing it like this will also keep the black clean too, even if the color image doesn't seem like it has black, it will get used for blending. If not, you will find yourself running the head cleaner & nozzles the next time you want any color be it a B&W or color image. It prints really good quality images. Wifi works really well, even down in the basement while modem is on the main floor. Settings are easy to go through and change. This printer holds bigger paper for those larger projects. It doesn’t take up too much space, but it definitely makes a statement. A really good value for a Eco Tank. It’s really nice to be able to just dump ink into a printer instead of worrying about cartridges and mixed cartridges, the cost difference will pay for itself if you do a moderate amount of printing.
