That showed how the new duo were going to be different from the regular Marvel team as killing wasn’t usually part of the company’s comics. Cloak and Dagger were test subjects of these new drugs and rather than dying like all the other teens they were given special powers. Getting revenge upon the mob that used them as guinea pigs and protecting other kids from the evils of criminals became their calling card. That would bring them in contact with Spider-Man who thought they were misguided youths, the crazed Silvermane cyborg, Kingpin and the Punisher.Their success in the Spider-Man series would get the duo their own short-lived comic in 1983. That would introduce some new storylines. The couple were still trying to save the children, and had taken up in a church where the priest Father Francis believed that Dagger needed saving from Cloak, and a local detective O’Reilly believed the duo were interlopers.After that there were a hodgepodge of comics that featured Cloak and Dagger including more Spider-Man issues and the New Mutants. The last had just horrible drawings Bill Sienkiewcz with no sharp edges and tons of shadow that made it look like a sketch, not a final product and too much text by Chris Claremont.Until Cloak and Dagger got their own TV show recently the couple were one of many forgotten comics. This is a good collection to get introduced to them and the stories are good until the New Mutants comics. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Cloak and Dagger's 1st Adventure *by B***S on Reviewed in the United States on September 22, 2019* This graphic novel features the early adventures of the teenage vigilantes known as Cloak & Dagger. It opens with "Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man #64" where Spider-Man first encounters Cloak & Dagger who are on war against drugs. Then in "Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man #69-70", Spider-Man once again encounters Cloak & Dagger as they takes on Silvermane. Then in "Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man #81-82", Spider-Man have another run-in with Cloak & Dagger as they take on the Kingpin & of course, the Punisher who also after the Kingpin. Then in "Cloak & Dagger #1-4" tells you the origin of how Tyrone Johnson & Tandy Bowen became teenage vigilantes known as Cloak & Dagger. Detective O' Reilly wants to arrest them while Father Delgado wants to reform them. Then in "Marvel Team-Up Annual #6" Spider-Man and Cloak & Dagger joins forces to help the New Mutants. Then in "Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man #94-96" (during the events of "The Alien Costume Saga"), Spider-Man & the Black Cat must help Cloak save Dagger from Answer while get caught in the middle of the war between Kingpin & Silvermane. Then in "Marvel Fanfare #19" featuring a Cloak & Dagger standalone story. And the story concludes with "New Mutants #23-25" where Cloak & Dagger deal with a power struggle with the New Mutants.Great graphic novel. If you're fans of the TV series "Marvel's Cloak And Dagger", this book will tell you everything you need to know about Cloak and Dagger. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Should be a Marvel Epic *by P***R on Reviewed in the United States on April 30, 2017* If you are a fan of marvel epic format don't let this book pass you by. It's basically a marvel epic collecting all the early appearance of Cloak and Dagger.
