So close, but quite far from a working product
This has a lot of potential -- especially considering the lack of similar products on the market. Unfortunately it has a lot of problems that led to me deciding to return it.First and foremost: anyone who wants to receive alerts has to install the app, and only receives them via that app. This means a few things: (1) if either phone doesn't have data service or wifi, you can't send/receive an alert. (2) if the app crashes or isn't working right, no alert. (3) You have to get everyone to install an app on their phone, create an account, etc, in order to receive alerts.I was somewhat shocked there is absolutely no SMS support. Being able to trigger alerts on SMS would allow greater reliability -- a data connection wouldn't be necessary to send or receive the alert. I do understand the desire to have something on top of just an SMS (so it's actually more likely to draw your attention than a text message), but it should still have SMS ability as part of the alerting.Second, speaking of that app -- it installed on my wife's phone and paired to the button, but would not let me sign up for an account on my phone to receive alerts. I just kept getting an unknown error. Since I couldn't get it to work, the button was completely useless -- there was no way to actually send alerts.Third (and this is most forgivable/probably reasonable), I worried about the button because it was bluetooth based. Frankly, I've had less than stellar results at keeping bluetooth devices working reliably (Fitbit, Tile, etc). They usually work, but this isn't exactly something you want to only mostly work. I don't think there's a great alternative to bluetooth though, so I wouldn't dock points just for this. And in fact when we did have it set up on my wife's phone it worked consistently (thought that was only a handful of usages). On the plus side, it was smart that this runs on a replaceable battery that lasts a long time. A lot of rechargeable panic buttons need to be charged every handful of days. That just seems like recipe for a dead button when it's needed.

Dangerous failure. Do not buy for serious use.
Just received this tonight and got a server error when setting up the app. Checked tinysos.com and their website is down. This product relies on the tinysos servers to work. Anyone who has an emergency right now is frantically pushing their sos button and no one will ever hear the call. There is no excuse for this. In the age of Amazon aws and cloudflare any company serious about having servers everpresent can do so easily. There's no way I'm putting any of my family's safety in the hands of this device with the kind of negligent service management they've demonstrated. I just feel fortunate that I found this out upon setup and not during a real emergency.I'll be returning this tomorrow.

Not worth considering
I got no satisfaction at all from this gadget. Proposed recipients of the SOS message couldn't figure out how to confirm. One of my emails went unanswered. They never answer their phone. I couldn't log on to my account. Google and Firefox agreed that the tinySOS site was dangerous; they barred me from loading it. Is tinySOS a scam? It's certainly a flop. Anyway, iPhone IOS 11 includes a very similar SOS app. If your phone will run IOS 11, you have what you need.

A great idea and product, if it works for you personally. Give it a try.
A little bulky and I had some trouble syncing it to my phone. The tinySOS team was super helpful in trying to get it to work. I'm not that great about keeping track of little devices like this (Fitbit, etc), so I returned it.If you are better about those things, I love the idea and look forward to trying v2 and/or becoming more responsible with small personal electronics.

Company is a FRAUD. Webpage not active and servers won't let me connect.
Gave this to my girlfriend at the time. Only just found out that it NEVER WORKED. She tried for months to get it to set up but the company website was down. I just did a google search and the main webpage is also giving a 404 error. That's pretty crappy.I personally have tried for two weeks.

Don't waste your money, never worked!
After several attempts to set it up and contact customer service we finally gave up. Their product idea is very good but they only have en email address for customer service, no phone number. We tried multiples emails and NONE got any response. Waste of money if you buy it. I wish it had worked!!! So disappointing and frustrating!!!

The idea is good but the device simply did not function for us
The idea is good but the device simply did not function for us. I bought this for my mom to use with her iPhone SE. Most of the time pressing the button did not trigger a notification even when the button was right next to the phone. And sometimes it would trigger but I wouldn’t receive the notification until several minutes later. We tried various troubleshooting steps like unpairing and pairing the device again, and reinstalling the app but nothing helped.

NO online presence for support or anything else!
Did not work at all!! So upset! Couldn’t even troubleshoot because the company didn’t even exist online anymore! So, how do they monitor again, hmmmm???!!!
