Poor quality!
Bought this sprayer based on reputation of Hudson as making quality sprayers and the alleged durability of this model. However, after two years of infrequent use for my home garden, the sprayer stopped working at all. The item was always cleaned after use and has no blockage in the hose or sprayer head. Contacted the company and received poor service including an offer to replace the sprayer handle for $15.00 plus $5.00 shipping; however, no other solution, apology for the poor quality, or offer to replace the handle at no cost. Hudson quality has disappeared in my experience. Move on to other better quality brands.

You will like this sprayer.
Fast shipment from Amazon. The first Hudson sprayers that I bought were similar to this but were galvanized steel about 60 years ago. They were very good as is the "Farm Tough" model. I always have one dedicated to herbicides and one dedicated to pesticides. You won't go wrong with this sprayer if you plan to spray insecticides and fungicides in your garden. I have owned several Hudsons', Chapins', Spraying Systems, and tried cheap discount models from the big box stores. My advice, spend the money and get a good sprayer of one of the above name brands. They are more heavy duty, have better parts with good brass or composite wands.I have better service out of the hand held models for garden work than the backpack style. Some of the backpacks will leak down your back when they fail.Backpacks are designed more for brush control and fence row herbicide work and don't handle the wetable powders (fungicides)as well. That's been my experience.

Don't let the metal handle fool you...
When I bought this item last year I immediately told several of my friends that I had finally found a good quality sprayer. The initial quality is great. It easily reaches the top of full grown semi-dwarf trees. It feels very well built. The metal handle and metal wand were very impressive compared to the cheap sprayers that I had previously purchased from discount stores. I was fooled however, because the pump mechanism failed after less than fifteen uses. When I pulled it apart to see what had happened low and behold I found out that although the handle and shaft of the pump are metal the piece that actually attaches the shaft to the plunger is plastic. This plastic piece had sheared in two making the pump worthless. It's hard to understand why they went to the expense of providing a metal handle only to have it attached to a piece of plastic at the very point where there is the most stress. I am beginning to think that there just isn't such a thing as a good quality hand held sprayer.

Absolute garbage!
The handle broke after fewer than ten uses. No wonder, the design is utterly idiotic: just two pieces of plastic butted up against one another. No lug, threads, anything.Hudson used to be a great company. No more. I suppose, like Stanley (also a great brand, ruined) they have been taken over by financial wizards who will ride on the brand's reputation while they line their pockets. Then, once the suckers wise up, they go away, leaving unpaid debts and unemployed workers. Wherever the heck it is they make this junk.

Disappointing Customer Service
It came with only one nozzle, a wide fan spray. it is advertised to come with an adjustable nozzle so I can spray a fine mist or a strong targeted spray. I wrote to Robert Hudson, President of Hudson Manufacturing and asked whether he could supply the advertised spray tip (nozzle). I never received a response from the company, even though I provided my e-mail address and street address. Very disappointing! I would not buy another product from them. Unfortunately, nozzles from other sprayers do not fit, as this wand has a narrower diameter and other nozzles do not fit.

I like this one a lot
I've been using this for a few months, now for both herbicides and fungicides. Construction is better than many but not as good as in earlier days -- at least the nozzle is brass. I like the pressure release button. If you fill and must carry it, it would be helpful to get some kind of shoulder strap. Grommets are molded into the neck for that purpose. It does require re-pumping a few times before you empty the tank. While this may be annoying to some, it is a relief from the many times I had to re-pump a Craftsman sprayer that I own.

Excellent!
I appreciate the quality of the pump and the functionality. I'm on my 4th sprayer and this is my first Hudson. This is a MUCH better quality sprayer than my previous 'name brand' sprayers. I recommend this to anyone. I spent time researching before purchasing this and feel confident that this is the best option for the money. I would purchase this again without hesitation and recommend it highly to friends.

Quality semi-pro sprayer!
I grew tired of buying the cheap, junky hands prayers from the local garden supplies, Walmart, Lowes and etc. The parts were cheaply made, often failed, and some didn't work well right out of the box. I decided I wanted a semi-pro sprayer that would last me for my lifetime. The Hudson 90182FT does the trick. It's well built out of quality materials and built tough as well. Recommended.
