Review: Unexpected Best Buy of the year. - At nearly $40 dollars, and the split reviews, this was one of the biggest gambles I've made on a purchase so far this year- but I am glad I did. I have both Osteo and Rheumatoid arthritis, spinal stenosis, cervical spondylosis, bone spurs, Fibromyalgia, Hypermobile EDS, as well as polyneuropathy - which all play into my neck and back pains/strains and spasms. I have a near-constant pain in my rhomboid muscle (just between my shoulder blade and spine) that I can never get rid of (despite my SO never giving up on trying to rub it out) & the first time I used this traction mat, I was able to apply the right pressure to the right spot, WHILE aligning my neck and back. I place a padded yoga mat, at the foot of my chase lounger, with a low back/lumbar pillow on the yoga mat. Sit on the floor and place my feet up (elevated) onto the lounger, hold this traction mat in place behind my neck, and slowly lean back until I'm laying flat over the lumbar pillow with the traction mat aligned correctly along my upper back, spine and neck. After a minute or so of letting my muscles "settle" around the massage nodules, I hold my palms face up, at shoulder height and "wax-on, wax-off" slow circles, to gently need the rhombus and trapezius muscled (a stretch shown to me by my masseuse). Then slowly, fully extend my arms out laterally, bring my right arm all the way to the left side, then back. Repeat with the left arm. Then cross both arms over my chest and slowly til my shoulders forward. back and side to side. A stretch shown to me by my chiropractor. This also helped me greatly in preventing an ocular migraine. I get severe, recurring and utterly debilitating ocular migraines that no medication has been able to help with (& I've tried them all, even up to Botox for migraines). I had one start up a few days after getting this traction mat, laid it out, and rubbed the "knots" on the back of my head all over the massage nodules, back and forth over and over for what I can only honestly refer to as the best migraine relief I have yet to find. It allowed me to be pain-free enough to fall asleep and hide from the remnants of the migraine- thus escaping the light/sound sensitivity that would have inevitably followed. Would definitely recommend. One of the best-buys I've made this year. Thank you for such a simple. yet amazingly effective product.
Review: Oh wow can’t believe how much it helped me. - I tend to get tight muscles in my neck and shoulders. It often turns into a knot that strains muscles and limits my arm rotation. I found that this product works great on applying pressure to the knot and releasing that tension. I use it on a hard surface like the floor for best results. Just relaxing and taking deep breaths, using the weight of my body to sink into the nodules. 5 to 10 minutes does the trick usually. The first day I use it 3x a day then just decreasing in the days to follow. 3-5 days usually does the trick.

**Q: I know we're alll different sizes, but does this reach down past the shoulder blades?**
A: The massage point of this relaxer is located just inside the shoulder blades. It can effectively massage the upper trapezius muscle, which is easily tense and sore in the human body. It will help you relax and give you a comfortable feeling.

**Q: Does this help correct upper back/neck hump?**
A: The humps in the neck and back are caused by tight muscles caused by poor posture. When using this relaxer, it can stretch the tight muscles in the neck and back. The 18 protruding points will massage the sore and tight muscles, which will help to relieve the humps. Long-term adherence to use, the effect will be better.

**Q: Can you and/or have you used this while you sleep?**
A: This should not be used to contour or support the neck while you sleep. It has pressure points and I imagine waking up from sleeping on this would not be a pleasant experience. It works well to release tense muscles in the neck and shoulders and stretch the neck. It seems like I read in the instructions that it shouldnt be used for extended periods of time. Try searching "neckcloud cervical stretcher" or for sleeping "cervical neck pillow for sleeping" to find some better options that do not extend to the thoracic spine.

**Q: Can anyone tell me how effective this is on your rhomboids and also your upper traps? I'm really looking for something that does both.**
A: The points on top of this product will press on your rhomboids, upper trapezius, scapular lift, and upper back erector spinae. Combined with traction on the neck. It can relax the muscle tension in the neck connected to the upper back and relieve pain. Because the muscles are connected, overall relaxation will be more effective than partial relaxation of the painful points. 
If you feel that the pressure points are too soft, you can try to sway your body from side to side, which will make the pressure points go deeper inside the muscle layers. But in the beginning I recommend a gradual approach.
