This product is not cotton or "cotton polyester" as the description claims. I purchased it and it has a tag that labels it "100% Polyester" so please take note. I've submitted feedback for Amazon to update this product listing as well.The material is very thin and see-through, but if you fold it over it's at least a bit more opaque.

This is 100% polyester not cotton at all. I feel like a poor animals with one of those plastic bags around it’s neck choking with my life being sucked out of me

This is not 100% cotton . It is polyester and very thin and very cheap and rough feeling . I bought 4 scarves and will be returning them . It states right on the scarf what it is made of. Very thin see through mesh type material . I don’t want to even give one star but u r forced too

I don't use the three Kafiya I bought for anything other than a mask to protect from passing along coronavirus. They're the perfect thickness! And if you know how to tie them (see YouTube if you're not from the Arab World), you can make them as light or as thick as you want to protect yourself and others. I don't use the Aqel, but it seems pretty tight- it's tough to get around the crown of my head. But the material for the Kafiya is so great, I get it just for that!
