Laundromat

A moving visual narrative of a disappearing urban curiosity
Snorri's Laundromats provide a fascinating narrative about a cultural curiosity, that may soon disappear in an era of gentrification throughout New York. The detailed study reveals a melancholic pattern of self-similarity, mildly nostalgic, revealing in some cases the decay and faded aspirations of those establishments in which complete strangers mix some of their intimate belongings, like the included essay states. An excellent book to flip through casually, or study page by page, to absorb and fully grasp the sad beauty of the American Laundromat.

Fluff & Fold In All Five Boroughs
Being a Queens girl by birth, I can honestly say that "Laundromat" is an incredible trip through not just the five boroughs, but through pieces of my childhood (yes, I've folded many a skivvie at places that looked just like some of the places featured in its pages). And, like any great piece of art, it makes you take another look at the everyday places and objects you thought you knew. A beautiful collection that captures the heart and soul of each neighborhood, with oodles of quirky details that give each place the character that makes NYC special.

Quirky, Delightful Walk through NYC!
In Laundromat, Snorri Bros captures an overlooked, ubiquitous public face of NYC - in all its glorious banality. Whether you're a resident, visitor, or a student of American street life, this book is a delight! For me, I'm transported to a thousand slices of my city leafing through this book. And the people-on-the-street cameos by the millions who namelessly populate life walking down the street! This book takes a tight, straight pass through a slice of life's backdrop in NYC.

The true NY Laundromat Photo Story
In this book we have a true documentation on the fading out Laundromats in New York City together with a view on the different parts of New York City and last but not least all the people which fill so nicely in the whole picture. All the pictures are „real“ in the sence that they are showing The Laundromats as it is without any fancy aproach.A „must have“ for New Yorkers and all the people loving the City.

A Beautiful Time Capsule!
If there is one thing you can say for sure about New York City is that it is always changing. As a New Yorker, I see these laundromats everyday and never think twice about it but I certainly would notice if they suddenly disappeared. The photographs featured in "Laundromat" capture a feature of NYC that is both ubiquitous and fleeting. "Laundromat" is perfect for New Yorkers, those that love the City and its people.

Great pictures and a good visual story from the streets of NY
Snorri has a keen and sometimes funny way of presenting "the streets" of NY. In this great photographic book he's concentrated on one of the landmarks of New York - the ever present Laundromats which some say will one day dissappear. Enjoyed this book very much and would recommend it to friends and family.

The unexpected extraordinary
Laundromat perfectly captures the soul of a city in this off-beat subject. The execution of Laundromats, is the sum of choices of a true artist, bringing forth the anonymous life beat of New York in all its unconscious aesthetic. Truly, we are shown the extraordinary in the most unexpected of places.
