We have had this steamer for a while now and we are using it daily to reheat rice and quinoa. It works like a champ! In minutes we have fluffy, just like fresh, grains reheated. it's a super time saver because we now cook all our grains for the week in one shot and reheat them. The steam makes them taste just as good as fresh cooked. Also the steamer is convenient to use. We put it on top of our sauce pan and use a paper towel inside to hold all the tiny grains in. After we are done we just remove the paper towel and it's clean! Couldn't be easier. The size is a bit huge for the two of us but it hasn't been a hinderance and when we do need the extra space it's there. The quality is great but the "metal" band around the outside seems a bit gimicky especially since it appears to be a paper thin metal tape. It hasn't caused trouble for us but it does seem like just one more thing that may go wrong. Then again who knows maybe that crazy thin tape is making all the difference. Either way I have no complaints the product seems just as advertised.

This is my first steamer so I can't compare but I love it. I got the paper liners to protect the cooking surface and recommend that. So far, I have used it regularly for chinese buns, frozen dumpings, tamales and made great brocolini last night. We have been avoiding the microwave and this is a very good alternative for the right foods. It's not for everything, such as crisp foods. I'm going to get a small one for little items.It goes give off a bamboo smell, not bad, just wet bamboo, while cooking. Using the fan takes care of that. I was skeptical about the double deck design cooking both levels evenly, but it works fine. I like the storage bag that comes with it. It is roomy and I also keep the steamer papers in the bag with it.

Considering how hard it is to find a decent bamboo steamer these days, I guess this is ok. It works well and seems to be durable ...... but the lid only fits a particular way (either the base or the lid are not a perfect circle), and the rim on the base is too thin ..... it doesn't fit easily on my pan. The base piece leans and slightly dips on one side. And I even went out and bought a brand new pan to match the diameter of this exact steamer! It may go back to the base not being a perfect circle ....? Not sure. But, like I said, it does work to steam my vegetables despite it's design flaws.

it worked great, the two times we used it. Then it grew mold.... everywhere. Had to throw it out. I didn't really drop the rating because of it, though. It's probably mostly care techniques and a humid climate.

Can't soak in water to long. Do need to cover the bottom so it food won't sick. I spray my steamer easily too clean.

Having lost my last bamboo steamer in a move, I was delighted to see this on Amazon and immediately purchased it. It came very nicely packaged and included a quality cloth carrying bag! The inside part of the lid must be fitted and comes as a separate piece, which was a little startling at first, but super easy to do and took less than 5 minutes. I immediately steamed my favorite veggies and could taste the fresh bamboo with every bite. So happy I got this! Fast shipping on Prime.

Love the product. I already have one that's smaller that I can't fit as much in so I bought this one because it's bigger. Bigger as in wider but it's not taller. I usually steam smaller things such as Shumai or won tons but needed a steamer that could fit more of them. This one is perfect and can steam enough for my family of 4.

The steamer baskets have a metal band that holds their shape and the bottom is much sturdier than a previous set we had. The baskets should last a long time. We use them to steam frozen Chinese roast pork buns we get in a Chinese supermarket that’s 2 hour drive away.
