These very vibrant snails are great for adding some color and decoration to your aquarium, but they also serve some very useful purposes. They clean algae off of glass, plants, and decorations, they eat hair algae, and they keep your substrate clean and the correct color. They are totally safe with any fish, shrimp, or plants, and are completely peaceful. Hilarious if you have dwarf shrimp like I do - they love to ride around on the snails! Red Ramshorn snail shells range from a bright pink to a sharp-looking maroon, but most are closer toward the pink side of the spectrum. The snails usually ship as pea sized snails, but may sometimes be smaller. However, even the smallest snail will be adult breeding size within 2 months. RECOMMENDED TANK PARAMETERS: - PH level range: 7.0 and up - Temperature range: 60 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit - Water type: Soft to hard - Additional notes: Ramshorn snails are not picky at all about their water parameters, and they tend to reproduce like crazy in almost any conditions. If you run into problems with snail overpopulation, a few Assassin Snails will quickly take care of the problem. Ramshorn snails eat algae, waste, and invertebrate pellets or fish food. Snails are very sensitive to copper, so watch out for copper if you use tap water in your tank.

Took quite a bit for the package to arrive but they all seemed pretty well off
All of mine came in healthy. Took quite a bit for the package to arrive but they all seemed pretty well off. A couple of things for those buying.1.) Most of them will be very small and will take time to grow into there color.2.) Colors can vary A LOT (I've NEVER seen one like the picture the seller has and I'm guessing its tweaked with photoshop or lighting). They WILL be various shades of red to redish/orange though - I even got a nice PINK one which I'm very happy with and hope it makes lots of little one.3.) Ramshorns breed, they can change sexes but it will takes at least two to tango if you catch my drift, so don't buy these or come here complaining you then have dozens or hundreds of them. You can contain them by the amount you feed - or don't if you have plenty of plants. I still feed mine but my tank is invertebrate only but I'm 100% confident they would consume food waste/plant debris there entire life. So do your research before putting anything in your tank - period.4.) You can feed them left over veggies and fruits so long as they are washed (i almost always remove skins) and then blanch them in boiling water for like 3-4 minutes. Some of there favorites: Zuchini, Red Bell Pepper, Carrot, Cucumber, Kale and even Grapes. Look into making SNELL-O homemade food, as snails like calcium. Hard water and PH will help the shells a lot as well.5.) You can use these if you like to start a colony of snails to feed to puffer fish as well - if that is your thing.6.) They prefer planted aquariums and will eat dead or dying leaves and stems. They feast on algae as well, and even though they breed I prefer them over Nerites as they are way more active and less picky about what they consume thus making them my #1 cleaning crew member next to amano shrimps.

It was nice that they included a +1 for this reason
Got them from PingPong, got 6, one died within two days, 5 have survived since purchase date and are thriving for several weeks now. It was nice that they included a +1 for this reason. They are not like the picture, their body is orange but the shell is decalcified and has white spots and is overall paler in color. Seller PingPong needs to add some crushed coral or cuttlebone or another type of calcium supplement to their water. Snails, shrimp, fish, etc take calcium from their environment as they multiply, they'll use it up as time goes on if any isn't added and if there isn't enough in the water, they will have deformities eventually. I think they'll color up over time with my care. They eat algae very well and that's the main reason I got them so it isn't a total loss and I'm not angry, just writing this review so you'll know what you're getting from this seller. They're like C grade from PingPong and the advertised picture is an A+ for reference.

Just like the picture.
They are shipped in a wet paper towel, with instructions. They looked dead. Follow instructions and they enliven. Mine were all about 1/2" , well, and received more than the minimum promised. A month now and they are all doing well. These are truly red and unique. We are enjoying them. Not 5 stars because a bit pricey. Otherwise, its a good purchase.

Healthy snails
I gave this a 5 star rating, because the snails arrived healthy. But they are not the same color like shown. Their color is a pale pink, two of them are almost white. I am hoping their color will intensify, as they get older. Right now they are not even red snails. Still they add some color to my velvet blue shrimp tank.
