"Pack Light" addicts--you will love this!
I admit it--my husband and I are "pack light" addicts. We only take carry-on luggage, which automatically means doing laundry. Bought this clothesline last fall and took it on a 10-day trip to Paris, along with only 3 pairs of (acrylic) socks and 3 sets of (microfiber) underwear. This clothesline is GREAT! I was able to put it up in whatever shower/tub configuration we found in our hotel rooms. We did laundry every night, filling the sink with soapy water and allowing the garments to soak while one of us took a shower, then rinsing well, blotting in an already-used bath towel (or viscose hand towel) and hanging them up on this clothesline. No need for clothes pins--you can insert the garment between the braids on the line.I have osteoarthritis in my fingers and as other reviewers have noted, I did have some problem separating the braided rubber on the clothesline. But I found that inserting the garments into the braiding while the line was not taut made it much easier. I then stretched the line out for the garments to dry.I hung blouses and pants on it too. (We wear nylon/polyester travel pants and nylon or polyester shirts/blouses. These wash/dry very well in the hotel room.)I found that using a small viscose handtowel (think Shamwow, but there must be other manufacturers--just make sure it is really viscose) really helped get the clothes dry. Viscose can be wrung virtually dry by hand, and it pulls water out of hand laundry like nothing else.I was very impressed by this clothesline and highly recommend it!

Braid is a built in cloths pin and every weave.
Yes, if you light to travel light, this thing is great way to hang lots of stuff easily like socks and underwear and t shirts. Pack half the clothes and bring this. The braid really holds clothes when pulled tight, so you can hold socks from tip and expose full surface, in stead of let the folded over touching parts stay wet.

Handy travel aid
I am a musician who does a lot of one-nighters, and I'll try anything that might lessen the motel-to-motel hassle. This is handy for hanging my quick-dry socks and underwear when I wash them in the sink. A lot of motels use the little clip-type coat-hangers, and you can't hang them up on a shower curtain bar, but with this clothesline you can separate the elastic braids, pinch a corner of the cloth between the braids, and then hang the whole thing up. Usually you can find a way to hook one end of the line to the shower head and the other to the shower-curtain bar. If the motel has a wall fixture or a couple of tall chairs you can use as anchors, you can find a way to suspend the line and clothes over the heat or ventilation system to help the clothing dry faster. I've occasionally used a couple of my microphone stands to hang the line in front of the AC vent. One shortcoming -- I wish they included some kind of suction cups with these so you can pop them onto the smooth wall of a shower or tub surround. I know suction cups are a little undependable, but maybe if they had the kind of unit that comes with a windshield-mount GPS, for example (with the lever to increase suction hold), they would be more secure.

Allow enough time to dry!
Short and sweetAs far as providing convenient all in one way to hang cloths while on the road this is a great product. However, we never successfully dried our cloths overnight. That of course is not the clotheslines fault. Why I chose this productI wanted a clothesline for an upcoming mid-duration trip and for future travels as well. The deciding factor for choosing this item was its ease of use. The braided rubber cord meant that no clothespins would be needed and that the line could be stretched to fit various spans. Also, the hook and loop fasteners made it easy to attach.ImpressionsThe line went up without any fuss. I was really impressed that the fasteners held because it was stretched very tight on several occasions. The cloths themselves attached to the braided line easily and stayed put. The line though bigger than just bringing some cord functions nicely, weighs only 2.1oz(60g), and didn't break the bulk bank for our carry on only backpack traveling. The only disappointment was that we never seemed to be able to leave the cloths up for long enough for them to dry. My wife and I did our laundry the evening before and left the windows open. After breakfast we would come back and though the cloths were dryer than before, they needed several more hours which we did not have. So we would take them down, go out for the day, end up at our next location, and hang them up again. We were in Italy and France in May so perhaps the weather was not conducive to line drying our cloths. We are also not very experienced with proper line drying techniques (we did thoroughly ring them out though) so perhaps it was user error. We ended up just going to the laundry mat if we were on the move the next day and only using the line when we were going to stay more than one night.Pros-Variable length-Clothespins not required-Strong hook and loop fasteners-More convenient than finding a laundry mat-Saves moneyCons-Cloths may not be dry overnight-May leave wrinkles where attached to lineConclusionI rate this product four stars because I feel that the clothesline is thoughtfully designed and performed its purpose very well. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a travel clothesline. Just keep in mind that it may take longer than expected to dry cloths depending on the weather which of course is not the clotheslines fault. If there is something about this product that you would like to know just ask in the comment section and I will try to help. Happy travels.
