This IS an 8 core (MediaTek MT6592) tablet, it is built on a 28nm process. This system on chip was announced in 2013, released in 2014. Many cores are often turned off, clock speed per core varies, 2.5 Ghz for CPU 0 and 588 -1300 Mhz for CPU 1-7, variable clock speed per CPU and turning CPU's off seems to be a method of saving power.. The individual CPU core speed seems to vary more when working on something but is relatively static when running CPU-Z and no additional program in background.This tablet DOES come with 4GB of RAM, and 4 GB of local storage, but also 64 GB of secondary storage. At first only 4 GB of storage was visible at a casual glance using google play services, but later, it occurred to me there may be another drive, once looking for it, it was found it is a 64 GB 2nd drive, about 4 GB of that are in use. This is a 32 bit ARM Cortex-A7 system on chip design, it is not Cortex A8, and is a bit dated as a CPU architecture.. Bundled with the tablet is GPS, and FM radio, the radio requires earbuds, which are included. CPU Z reports a 10.1" screen, using a tape measure it seems about 1/16" to 1/32" below 10" in diameter. Though it is very close to 10.1. 2560 x 1600 really is the screen size, as Twitch reports on playback that super HD streams are displayed at original resolution, it is beyond my competence to count each pixel.CPU-Z identifies the tablet model as TYD-107H (kt096h_101), manufacturer is JTY. There are a bunch of other details about the hardware, however basically it is as advertised. Chromecast works, it is able to display Twitch super HD streams (higher than normal HD) without any issues (no artifacts or loading pauses). It comes pre-rooted.The seller provides a browser which supports flash player, chrome is not installed, but the play store is. An app for the GPS allows seeing not only directions to travel, but altitude, speed, and compass direction of the vehicle.The screen can get dirty easily, and maybe some sort of clear cover is needed, smudging is an issue. A benchmark program called AnTuTu indicates this is about twice as fast as a Galaxy S5.This may be the best tablet value Amazon has had, it sure beats any of my prior purchases.The tablet comes with a power supply, USB cable, earbuds, a $5 off next purchase card, and a small mostly useless manual.In bright outdoor light, the screen is difficult to read, indoors even with many lights on, it is an easy read. As a result it is harder to use during daylight in a car. Not impossible, just more difficult than my expectation.

After playing around for almost two weeks, I concluded that the hardware specifications alone are definitely worth the money you pay for it. I would pay twice the price to get it, if it comes with Android 7.0 (Nougat) and with wireless 802.11AC (instead of Marshmallow and wireless 802.11N).The tablet comes not pre-rooted, but can be easily rooted using the latest version of "KingRoot.apk" and others. There are quite a few system & software issues with its strangely "modified" Android 6.0 OS. For example, I couldn't get "MX Player.apk" working to play videos on this tablet, after many attempts. I also have problems installing some popular widgets on the screen. Fortunately, there are always "work-around" solutions to resolve them, if you persist.Don't be panic, if the tablet is frozen or unresponsive while in use or during startup. There is a "Hard Reset" button below the "On/Off" switch. Simply use a paper clip to press the reset button once, this will end your panic session. I am surprised that the Manual did not mention a word about the life-saving "Hard Reset" button.Finally, you should expect "ZERO" technical support and firmware updates in the future. You buy it, you are on you own and by yourself ALONE.

This is my third attempt to get a working mediatek 10" tablet. I like the tablet for its price, the screen, and the weight. I have got these from different vendors but they are all mediatek tablets with the same or very close specs. This one had a very poorly working battery and charge controller. The battery percentage would drop very rapidly and erratically. After several charge cycles and a factory reset, I charged it fully. I started doing the setup and a game. The tablet warned of 15% remaining after 1 hour and fifteen minutes. I connected it to the charger and the battery graphic showed 64%. I started it again with the battery showing 64%, and then it went to 15% in one hour. The next time, it was 67% and fell so rapidly it went from 20% to 1% in 5 minutes. Then I left it charging for 2 hours and 15 minutes and the battery graphic showed 100% but the charge % showed 20%. I returned it to Amazon.

Specs too good to be true? Well, the specs may be accurate, but user experience was dismal. There was a dead spot on the screen. The screen wasn't smooth glass but seemed like a matted finish. The first thing I tried to do was to connect to Googleplay but it just hung. The corners of the unit seemed a bit warped. Overall, you're getting what you paid for.

It kept crashing and I had to reboot the device about 20 times a day for a fair performance. I am not joking, about 20 times a day.

Very good Tablet, I recommend it.Fast, aesthetic and multifunctional.All installed applications work perfectly.Very good front camera of 13 MP.I can see all the HD movies without problems.64 GB of internal memory, 4 GB of RAM.Actually a product with optimal quality / price.

This is a lie and a big Rip-off. Does NOT Have 2k graphics but has 1217X800. I ran 6 difference apps to find what this tablet really is. It Seems that the 8 Core cpu is really a 4 core running at .598mhz. BUT two apps reports that it is a 6 core and an 8 core.??? Running at 598mhz to 2.5 mhz. ????OS????????. Says its “KITKAT 6.0????? Never heard of that one. It Is Really Kit Kat 4.4.2Too Many lies and too much Deception on this device. Its going back to the vendor.NOW, Overall, Its not a bad $40.00 tablet, I would have bought it IF the vendor could have been honest about the tablet.

It is a good phablet.If you buy the warranty with it,Squaretrade will just pay you what you pay for the tablet because it is an import item,they can not do repairs to it
