Ikat throw pillow, decorative cushion, Laos ikat tribal textile, ethnic hand woven cotton grey white beige boho fabric. 20 x 20 inch SUN2 The front of the pillow is from a vintage ikat traditional Laos and Northeastern Thailand handwoven fabric. The weft, or thicker grey, cream and light blue threads on which the ikat designs were made are cotton. The warp or thinner darker vertical support threads are polyester. They give the black contrast against the lighter colors to make the subtle rhombus pattern of the weave. Polyester is utilized for the warp to add strength to a textile, and to prevent shrinking and warping while cotton is used for its softness and touch against the body. In fact, it is only the cotton that comes into contact with the body as the polyester is buried in the thicker cotton yarn. Note that there are some very faint areas of discoloration such as seen in the left corner of the pillow in the third photo. The back of the pillow is a wonderful striped handwoven raw hemp/cotton mix in neutral beige and cream on the weft while the warp is in deep indigo blue cotton. This pillow has an interlining to maintain fabric integrity and smashing good looks, and a YKK zippered fill opening for strength and durability. Included is a properly-sized, insert/pillow form at no extra charge. Note that it is shipped un-stuffed/un-filled and that it has a 7 inch YKK zippered opening so you may fill it as full (or not) as you want with a material of your choice: down feathers, poly-fill, the torn up Sunday Gazette... No need to search for or worry about the correct insert. We've taken that guess-work away. You need only purchase the type of fill you desire. Please note that the hand-woven textiles used in this pillow may have some aberrations such as pulled threads or other anomalies. The raw hemp backing was chosen for its vintage and natural/organic feel. Shipping will be by Standard Post and will arrive in 1 to 2 weeks.
