Great size for post op icing
This ice pack is large enough to ice my knee after surgery. Folds up to fit in the freezer easily so it's ready for the next time.I highly recommend if you need a large ice pack

Great ice pack
Read to the end of you want to see suggestions for use from someone who's had crippling chronic back pain for over 20 years. I just bought my second one of these. The first one lasted for years. I'm a big guy, and I lay on it every night before I go to sleep. I had a spine injury 20 years ago. I've been using ice packs every night for a long time, and I've owned several. This is one of biggest and most durable ice packs I've found. The only other packs I've tried that worked this well are no longer available. The gel inside is just about the perfect consistency. It doesn't get too thin when it's warm, or too thick when it's cold. It also doesn't start leaking after a month or two, like most ice packs. The gel is in eight separate compartments, so it doesn't all pool in one spot, like the lesser quality packs. The only improvement I'd suggest would be using a little more gel in each compartment, but it does work well enough as it is. I place it on my bed an lay on top of it, with it positioned so that the bottom reaches the lowest part of my spinal column. I had spondylosis and spondylolisthesis in my lumbar spine from an injury, and it caused quite a bit of nerve damage before it was diagnosed and repaired. I had a spinal fusion with laminectomy to repair it. I also have a few injured disks near the middle of my spine. I'm 6'2", this pack reaches all those areas, and them some. I wear a t-shirt and pull my pants down a little in the back. The t-shirt is all I put between the ice pack and my skin, and it works well. Before I put it back in the freezer, I place it on our dining table, put a cutting board on top of it, and gently press down to flatten the gel. Sometimes I have to smooth the gel a little by hand first, depending on how long I used it. If you have chronic back pain and you haven't tried using a large ice pack, I would strongly suggest giving it a try. Use it every night before you go to sleep. It takes a few tries to get used to letting the cold penetrate the soft tissue and numb everything. It's a bit unpleasant at first, but before long the unpleasant sensation is barely noticeable and it actually starts to feel really good. I would suggest having a second ice pack, so you can use one during the day, as needed, and still have a cold one available at bed time. I filled a large zip lock bag with some water and left it in the freezer on a cookie sheet to make a layer of ice to keep between my packs, so when I put a warm one in, it doesn't suck the cold out of the other. You only need enough water to make about 1/2 inch of ice, that covers roughly the same footprint as your ice pack does when it's folded for storage.

Fantastic
I have constant back pain, and although it's usually lower-back, I often get pain in other areas as well. Regular-sized ice packs could only apply to one area, but this pack covers my entire back. I enjoy it, and I also like how small it can be once folded. Fits nicely in my freezer, doesn't take up too much space, and unfolds to chill out my entire back. A great product.

Not Very Cold
It doesn't get very cold, and the cold temperature it does get doesn't last very long. I like to ice my back for 20 minutes and it doesn't keep cold that long.

Large, COLD pack
This thing gets SO cold! And it stays that way for hrs! It's great for the entire back because of it's large size (of course I'm only 5'3" so take that as you will).

Love the large size of this
Love the large size of this...great to have just one large ice pack on the back vs. multiple ones. So far, it seems to hold the cold for long enough to get the therapeutic benefit (Dr instructed to ice for 20 minutes, off for 20 minutes, then ice again for 20 minutes). It holds the temperature for longer than the needed 20 minutes. I do wish it was more of a gel and I wish the edges were not so rough/sharp. It folds up and does not take up much space in the freezer, which is great, and it is not hard as a rock when frozen, so it can easily be wrapped around arms, legs, etc. I do wish the material was a little more durable, as it seems like it can puncture or rip easily. Overall, I am very pleased with this product.

Would Highly Recommended
This is the best Ice Pack I have ever had. I ordered one for my sister that just had a knee replacement. She just raves about. Freezes quickly and lasts a long time.

great size
I thought the size of this might be overkill, but it has worked out great. I can wrap it around my upper leg, or get it to cover almost all my back. It does take up a lot of space in the freezer, but having a spare freezer is for weird stuff like this.
