Cozy Food: 128 Cozy Mystery Writers Share Their Favorite Recipes

As a devoted cozy mystery reader (and writer--The "To Die For" mysteries featuring Carrie McCrite and Henry King) I was invited to contribute to this cookbook. Oh, boy--what an honor. My friend Carrie is a, well, a "casual" cook, devoted to EASY recipes, and often inventing as she goes. Some of her unique recipes that have proved to be popular with my readers are included here. (Two or three of her cooking adventures are included in each novel and then the recipes are printed in the back of the book.But, I digress. I, like Carrie, am a casual cook, and, after having prepared family meals for many years, often depend on long-time favorites and side trips I invent or find in cookbooks--like this one. Lots to enjoy here. I do admit, when ingredients get beyond a dozen, and instructions beyond a half page, my eyes begin to glaze over. Shucks! It's a recipe compilation based on foods described in various cozy mysteries. The basic theme of the book and basic definition of the characters involved in the recipes are outlined as an intro to the recipes. It's a fun cookbook, especially when I am familiar with the book/character. There are some really tasty-looking recipes that I plan to try.

This cookbook is perfect for cozy mystery lovers. It has a ton of recipes. The bios in the back are really interesting and the outtakes are really funny. I read about some of my favorite mystery authors and found a whole bunch of new ones to try out. Looking forward to breaking out my apron and trying some of these tasty recipes.

I enjoyed reading this cookbook as much as I know I will enjoy making the recipes in it. In addition to finding some of the drool-worthy treats from my favorite cozy mysteries, I found several new authors and series I can't wait to read. I look forward to enjoying this cookbook for a long time to come.

Fascinating look into the tastes and choices of favorite authors.....many choices of interesting and familiar dishes. With two friends, we planned a "Favorite Author" dinner, and had all the foods made from recipes in the book. It was delicious and fun! Plan to use these recipes often.

Such a disappointment. Of all the recipes in the book, there's only one (ginger cookies) that I'd even try. The rest were really uninspired.

I've started trying some of the recipes, and so far I've thoroughly enjoyed them. It's fun to find recipes that have come from some of my favorite authors.

I love this book. I found a lot of new authors and good recipes.
