Which one is superior and why.** A: They are all models within Schiek's Platinum Series of gloves. The 520 models in black and pink are cut smaller to better fit a woman's hand, as is the pink version of the 540. The 530 model and black 540 model are larger fitting for a man's hand. The 520 and 530 models have a short hook and loop closure along the top of the wrist. The 540 models have a longer strap that can be wrapped around the wrist fully for additional support. The rest of the glove construction and material is similar across all Platinum models. **Q: What size is a 8 1/2" - 9 "?** A: Take the measurement around your hand at the top of your Palm, below your finger joints. That will be the size you need to order. **Q: do the gloves run large?** A: I belive they run true to size in terms of a men's glove. I am a woman and ordered a size small and am happy with them, the fit snug, but not too snug. I typically would not order anything "small" in women's as I am 5'10" tall, average/athletic build and have hands that are proportionate to my body size (not big like a mans, but not small like a shorter woman's). My husband is 6' with a typical size hand and the large fits great for him. I would definitely recommend these as they are easy to remove (the fins are awesome) and offer great wrist stabilization, which I could not seem to find in a women's training glove. **Q: Where can I find the size chart?** A: To find the right size, measure around your hand across the center of the palm and use the following recommendations. If they are still around in a year I will come back and give another star. Some reviewers have said this but I am going to echo it. They are VERY thick. This is fine for pressing exercises but causes me to have to adjust my grip a lot for all pulling (pull-ups, rows, pull-downs, etc). If you are using something that already has a larger diameter bar or grip these might be a problem for you especially if you have a smaller hand like I do. One other thing to consider is that these are synthetic leather. My experience with synthetic anything working out is that they get to stinking much quicker. I have to wash these every other week. Leather gloves I have used never really got nasty smelling. All this said I would have given 3 stars. I have dropped it down because Schiek makes a big deal about "made in America". American flag on the wrist strap. These are pretty pricey gloves but many, like me, are willing to pay more for folks in this country to put it together. Well, they aren't made in this country which makes them way too expensive. ***Update*** As promised, it has been a year. They have lasted well and I gave another star. Everything else stated in my review is still true. They do require washing about every other week because, as stated, they start stinking. **********3rd Update*********** I have given it 5 starts from 3 stars. Reason? These really last a long time.
