Not only does it look good, but it works really well, even on my non-standard installation. I have a set of outswing french doors for my new office, and normal door stops did not help the few times a gust of wind took them for a ride. What to do? Install one of these. But, my installation, as you can see in the photo, is for top frame. Just not enough room to mount the closer on the door. With some help from the seller, I got that sorted out.Then it was just a quick cut on one of my machines to make the right shims (wall isn't done, but this will be sturdy until we plaster) and I was off. The only thing I might change is to drill slightly larger holes on the other side, install a pair of shims with the OD of the holes (to prevent crushing of the door), and run carriage bolts through to the bracket on the closing arm. Ive tapped and threaded the door, but these doors are only about 1mm thick, and only got 1 and a half threads there.If you got a bit more skill than installing a set of blinds, you should be able to tackle this project. Might pick up another for the other door.

Good solid piece of equipment. Attractive. Kind of a pain to install. The templates are good to use separately (main unit & fitting on the jamb) but if they are used together the spacing can be off depending on how you're installing. There are several adjustments in the arms that the instructions leave out. That said, I am very happy with the finished product. Closing speed and latching speed are great. Big heavy door moves quickly until the last 10 inches or so. Then it slows almost to a stop and pleasantly clicks closed.

Installed this on my garage door that has tormented me since I bought the house. Installed pretty easily, works perfectly. No more slamming garage door. After a couple turns of the adjustment screws per the instructions, it closes like it used to until the last couple inches and then gently closes the door with a faint click instead of the slam that shook the whole house. Additionally, if you have young children, this unit would be something to consider considering it wont allow the door to slam on little fingers.

Good product. My only reservation/issue is that instructions do not explain how to install closer on top of door sill (this option is shown, pictorially, on the Amazon website) - rather than on the door, itself. Other than that, I really like this product.

The Toledo Door Closer appeared to be a well-made product but did not fit my door and I had to return it. It's important that you do your product research before you purchase. If the closer doesn't fit you will pay for the return shipping to Puerto Rico and you will also be subject to a 20% restocking charge.

Works well, very adjustable, only downside is that (hydraulic?) fluid leaks from the end cap for a coulpe of weeks - I guess long enough to empty the cylinder.

I bought this for my condo entrance door. I had purchased this in the past and was so pleased that when I moved to my new place y replaced the chain door closer with this one. Very pleased.
