What did I read? I will be honest... I bought this book based on the title and cover. I didn't read the synopsis at all. I thought for sure I was getting some sort of mystery or thriller. This book is definitely neither of those. Good thing I am a sucker for a second chance romance!I was hooked on this story from the first sentence. That opening scene though... I fell for these characters from the get go. I wanted the man to get his woman so bad I could taste it. These two characters have carried a love for one another for so many years, it was only right that they finally get things right.This book is told in dual point of views, past and present. I can't see this book being told any other way. It works for these characters and the story they have to tell. And what a story it was. I devoured this book. I couldn't get enough of it!If you are looking for a second chance romance with great characters, a strong story, angst, fun, and a happily ever after, this book is for you!

Liv left Tennessee to go to school in Georgia right after she graduated . Because of Parker James breaking her heart . She was never going home again . Liv is getting ready for her shift at a gentlemen’s club in Atlanta.Liv , you have clients waiting on you . What is it birthday or bachelor party . It is a bachelor party .Liv puts on her mask , lingerie, and her spiked heels . It’s almost show time and the music is her green light to get ready to dance for the bachelor and his groomsman. She sees the guys and recognizes one of the men It is Parker James , the guy who broke her heart , Liv starts her lap dance and Parker touches her spine . She is used to it and says , no touching or I will have to stop . Take it off he says , in a husky low voice . Liv starts to grab the lace fabric with her trembling hand and reaches behind to unclasp her bra . Liv says , she can do this . Parker tries to stop her by putting his hand over her’s .He says , he meant the mask . Who are you Parker asked her . In stead of answering him she starts dancing again . Liv shifts into auto pilot . Dancing without any thought . She had a strange feeling there was a hand against her mask and it causes Liv to panic and search the man in front of her as her mask falls to the floor .She hears her name Livy , it is her brother Mason . She did not dare take her eyes off her brother’s . “Mason “A glass crashed to the ground beside her but she was not moving . Liv could not look at Parker anymore without her wearing the mask .Mason yells a slur , what are you thinking he shouted .Mason grips her arm she notices she is without her bra . She covers her chest by wrapping her arms around herself . Mason starts saying , this is the reason you can’t ever come home . Mason , “uses a four letter word that I will not type out . “You , ——- lied to me .The bouncer Hank reached out for Liv but Parker Steps in between Mason and Hank .The bouncer Hank you need to move , he threatened. .Parker says “Over my dead body . “Liv says , it brought back memories and it reminded her Parker broke her heart .It’s okay Hank , he is my brother Mason .Hank says , he needs to go get Mark but Liv tells him she can handle it . Parker says , we are not leaving here without you , she is shocked that it came from Parker . Liv snaps back , you do not tell me what to do . Mason you are coming home .Liv who is getting married ? Parker answers me . .Headed back to Tennessee to live with her brother and his eyes watching her like a hawk.Liv needs a job and Masons best friend Brandon offers her a job at the tattoo parlor the night Mason , Parker , Parker’s fiancee Emily and Brandon met up at the bar .Liv doesn’t know Parker is part owner of the tattoo parlor .The book goes back in time before Liv left for Georgia and was crushing over Parker .Present : Parker is engaged and Liv is working at the tattoo parlor . The sparks between theses two could start a fire but Parker is determined to stay with Emily and not go back to the Liv . She was not safe and Emily is .Liv , is Parker’s dirty little secret .Parker ,is fighting his attraction to Liv and he keeps pushing it back .Liv is determined to push Parker’s buttons because she is in love with him but still wants to stir things up .Parker has a drawing that Liv wants to have tattooed on her body . Parker says no .Stacie helps Liv step out of her comfort Zone .Which fires up Parker but it is none of his business . He has Emily and Liv is free to date but that is not going over well with Parker .The book bounces from present to past to help the reader understand Liv and Peter’s history together .There is a tattoo convention and drama starts and a low burning fire between them starts to build because of a kiss .Liv is not playing games it is time to move on .Will Parker marry Emily and stay safe or will he go after Liv where he knows that spark between them is still just as strong as it was the day she left for GeorgiaHidden secrets are uncovered. The book has drama , heart break , love and joy . The big one is redemption. Their relationship was shattered like a broken whiskey 🥃 glass and it is put back together with love ❤️ and forgiveness.A beautiful love story .I give the book 📖⭐️five stars even though writing a review with the past and present was a little challenging .No spoilers ..Book 1 out of three books .

I've read this book 3times now. I just got the other 2 books in the series and wanted to refresh my memory. I loved Parker and Livy's story, although I wanted to smack Parker a time or three. He was convinced "safe"was the route he needed to take this time around. Especially since chaos had broken his heart. Well, it wasn't really chaos that did it but a vindictive ex. Our MCs meet again in the first chapter so there's no waiting for them to interact (and what a way to run into the one who got away!). It's the push/pull that they put themselves and each other thru that has you wanting to ring Parker's neck. He's a really good guy that doesn't want to hurt anyone, but he doesn't want to hurt either. Luckily, it all works out in the end, because Parker and Livy are hot together. All thru the book you know they are meant to be. Great writing allows you to feel for the characters and go thru the journey with them. I'm sure I'll probably read this for a fourth or fifth time down the road! Definitely recommend!!

Parker and Livy have been in love since they were 16 but due to some miscommunication, haven’t been in contact for 4 years. They meet again on Parker’s bachelor party where Livy is a stripper. I liked how it flashed back to the start of their relationship but the reason I gave it a 3 stars is I don’t like when the guy has another girl and cheating is involved. I understand that’s part of the plot but it just seems like a real douchey thing to do, tearing apart two girls feelings and hearts because he can’t make a decision. But other than that it was a nice quick read!

Livy and Parker have been in love with each other ,in secret, since they were 16. But after something tore them apart, they don’t see each other for 4 years. That is until Parker comes to the strip club she works at for his bachelor party. As soon as they meet eyes again, they can’t help but remember how drawn to each other they are. She ends up beating dragged back home by her brother and having to work at parkers tattoo shop. Them seeing each other everyday doesn’t help the undeniable attraction they have for each other. But so many things are keeping them apart, the fact that he’s her brothers best friend doesn’t help but also the fact that he’s getting married in just 2 weeks.▪️▪️▪️▪️I loved this book so much that I read it all in 1 day, and as a slow reader, that is impressive for me. I loved how protective Parker way of Livy and the whole tattoo thing was beyond cute. It does have a bit of cheating in the end it was bound to happen in there circumstances. Over all, this is definitely a new favourite for me and I definitely recommend!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is my jam!And let me say before I’m judged… I DO NOT CONDONE CHEATING IN ANY WAY, SHAPE OR FORM!!However, this is fiction - there are plenty of things that I would never do in ‘real life’ but have no problem reading about (hello dark romance 💁‍♀️)So now that’s out of the wayI EFFFFING LOVED THIS BOOK! This is the type of book I get completely transfixed with and cannot put down until I know the outcome. It was such an easy read, the writing perfection with completely lovable and realistic characters that I was rooting for a HEA for the whole way through 😍I will say that I’m not a fan of miscommunication in the books I read (it angers me TBH) but I will say that I understand it was needed in this story to make the reunion all the more worthwhile - SOOO MUCH HATRED FOR THE BIATCH THAT CAUSED IT THOUGH 😡It’s not super steamy as the MC’s do spend a lot of time not being a couple. But I loved the scenes we did get, especially their first time….“He watched me. His eyes searching my face. “I want you to be my first, Parker. I want you to be my last. Please don’t make me beg you”Bottom line…🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 - loved it, could not put it down!!💔💔- high angst (people are literally trying to break them the whole way through)🔥🔥🔥 - some steam/spice. h is a virgin.HEA ✅Hero: 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤Heroine: ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️Chemistry: 💥💥💥💥💥HS romance at the very start- time jumps to 4 years later when they reuniteOW drama - there is cheatingSecondary characters are totally lovable 💜J/P HTropes: Brothers best friend, second chance, friends-lovers-enemies(sort of and mostly one sided)-friends-lovers, soulmates, taboo (because of cheating)

I couldn't put this book down I finished it within a few hours I couldn't get enough of it. It was my first read of Holly Renee which only led to me buying the rest of her books she is such an incredible author who knows how to keep you hooked and have you fall completely in love with her characters.The book floats between past and present wirh povs from both Liv and Parker which I actually loved. Liv is the sister of Parkers best friend Mason which should mean she's off limits but of course they can't deny the scorching chemistry between them and begin a secret relationship which shows Liv putting her whole heart on the line only to end up heartbroken when secrets and lies become to much and she runs.Four years later the pair meet again and it shows that the scorching chemistry they share is very well still there. They are complete different people now who have different lives but it's clear that they are still very much in love all these years later. The couple captivated me from the very beginning as the story went on it proved that the love they shared was so powerful not even four years away from each other could change it.It is a MUST read I was obsessed actually obsessed is probably an understatement 💙🦋

This was a fantastic read. I was hooked from the beginning.Liv has been in love with Parker her brother's best friend since they were kids. He feels the same but neither want to hurt the brother in the process.They drift apart and meet again a few years later, but not under the best of circumstances.Liv never forgot Parker and learns some things that make her regret leaving.These two just can't stay away from each other, they belong together. But Parker isn't hers anymore he belongs to someone else. So when they end up working together things will get messy because these two have history and unfinished business.Great Read I'm looking forward to more.
