Mermaids: An Adult Coloring Book with Beautiful Fantasy Women, Underwater Ocean Realms, Fun Sea Animals and Relaxing Tropical Beaches

I highly suggest buying this coloring book! The pages are clean & the lines are great. Every drawing page is full of detail & super beautiful!! The mermaids are beautifully made & I have nothing bad to say about this at all!! My book came with double pages also so I can color it again differently!

The media could not be loaded.  This is a new Mermaids coloring book by Jade Summer (note that this coloring book is not a duplicate of their first coloring book of the same title which is no longer available because of potential copyright issues.)These designs are inspired by the sultry and sensuous sirens of the sea. These are creatures who certainly can be considered enthralling with their come hither poses and inviting eyes. The designs show them above and below the waves and even with pirates and treasure.The designs are detailed but not what I consider intricate with small areas to color. I am able to use a wide variety of coloring medium on these designs.While you can have access to .PDFs when you purchase this book, my review is based on the book as it is received from Amazon. That way you will know what the pages look like and how they accept color. I like that the publisher provides the digital version as well so you can choose the paper you wish to use and/or to color the pictures as many times as you choose.This is what I found while coloring in this book and testing the paper with my coloring medium:30 x 2 each – Sensuous Mermaid Designs (total of 60 design pages)Paper is typical of CreateSpace: white, thin, slightly rough and non-perforated. The back of the page is printed black.The designs do not merge into the binding. There is a heavy framing line at the outer edges of the design to give the project a more finished look, especially for framing. There is a slight shadowing effect to the framing line which gives the image an almost 3D effect.Glue Binding (there is room to cut the pages out if you choose to do so.)Though you cannot see the bleed-through easily due to the back of the page being printed in black, I recommend the use of a blotter page when working in this book. I use a page of card stock or several sheets of heavyweight paper under my working page. It keeps seeping ink and marring dents from ruining the pages below.Alcohol-based markers bleed through the page quickly.Water-based markers bleed through in spots.Gel pens and India ink pens leave shadows on back of the page. India ink can bleed through if you apply heavily or multiple coats.Coloring Pencils work well with this paper. I found that I could layers the same color for deeper pigment or multiple colors and I could blend easily using a blending stick. I tested both oil and wax based pencils. I also found that hard lead pencils leave dents through the paper.

I love Summer's coloring books. They are beautiful and relaxing, plus you get a second copy of the coloring pages. I highly recommend her books.

Exactly as describe very pretty

I don't like the fact that it's way too cartoonish but other than that, I like it.

Didn't know what to expect as I have not colored in years but the quality of the line art was great as well as the type of paper. Lots of variety to keep busy. My only complaint is that part way through I noticed the images were repeated. Don't recall if others had this issue or if I got a bad copy. It's not a deal breaker & the upside is I get to color a favorite image again.*Edit* After checking it again page by page there is a note that the duplicates are intentional & for extra practice. 4 to 5 stars.

I really enjoy the beauty of the pages

I was surprised at the high quality of this book -- it's the first Jade Summer coloring book I've purchased, and I wish now that I hadn't waited so long to discover this excellent brand. Images are single-sided, with the back side printed black. There are 30 unique images, and with two of each image, the book weighs in at a hefty 60 pages. Great value for the price! The mermaids are beautiful (also scantily clad and rather busty, so be aware that this may not be for the skin-shy), with an art style that is not manga-esque at all; they actually really remind me of the vintage Barbie coloring books of the 80s that I loved as a child. I bought the book for myself, and while adults will certainly enjoy it, it isn't too complex for coloring by older children. Best part of all: the book includes a code for a free download of a high-quality PDF file containing every image in the book, so you can print off as many copies of the coloring pages as your heart desires! I highly recommend this book for anyone who enjoys coloring images of beautiful mermaids or ocean scenes.

Really beautiful, fun art. Like the idea of the black backed pages. However brush like pens seems to leak through. I really don't like the grade of the paper. It reminds me of colouring books from childhood (a little cheap feeling) have tried using sharpie colours to avoid ink bleeding onto next page, seems to work, but the way the ink spreads isn't great. The absorbtion of the paper is a bit uncontrollable (and this isn't my first time at adult colouring)Was really excited to receive these as an xmas gift. Unfortunately I'm a bit dissappointed. Again the art work is really great!! But excited better quality paper.

Had a lovely time colouring in this. Images are repeated but i've quite enjoyed this as i've done different colourings on images i've really enjoyed. I use sharpies and the transfer is literally non existent due to the black backings. I'm really happy with the quality of this and will purchase from the make again.

The images are well thought out as well as being beautiful. They are well executed drawings with an appropriate level of detail. Good idea to have two sets of images. Nor completely convinced about the privateers/buccaneers/pirates and their ships though.

Absolutely love this colouring book! I find colouring really therapeutic just switch off! This ones the best as the pages are black behind the picture so no bleeding through the other side!! Doubles of each one and you get a code to go online and print off more! Will definitely be recommending and buying jade summers colouring books again!

Lovely pictures. Does have two of every picture which is both a great chance to play around with different ideas, though also a bit of a let down as the pages could have all been individual designs. Also comes with ability to reprint the designs online, though I have yet to attempt access.
