I bought this after reading other reviews, especially ones who were disappointed. The tokens are small, yes you could use something else instead. You could possibly need more depending on how many people you have playing. HOWEVER, I bought them anyway because my daughter's and I love love love MLP even though they really have outgrown it. I want to introduce them to the world of rpging, which I already Love, and if extra little trinkets and things help them love it too, then worth the money. PLUS I get to support a company who is trying to make the mlp RPG happen. I want more expansion stories ECT, so I'm willing to buy the items to help encourage what I want.

Cute little branded boxCute little velvet bag, cute little plastic faceted bits of purple plastic in a teeny Ziploc bag.Kid (11) is happy but says "Wow, that's really tiny... More like pebbles of friendship than tokens."
