Walking was impossible before and is now quite pleasurable. I believe that it also was responsible for eliminating lunging at pedestrians, excessive barking ( although we bought an electronic collar designed for this purpose and it was a godsend ). to the point where our dog is much more enjoyable to deal with. The one issue that we have is with trying to put the collar on him. We found that attaching the prongs was difficult and took time , during which our dog would become impatient and he would start nipping and biting. The movement requires a bit of dexterity in the hands and fingers. We are both older and do not have much of this. However. this issue was solved by ordering the same collar with the metal CLASP. Therefore, no longer a need to place one prong into another. It is the same brand name (SPRENGER) but, in our case , was about three times more expensive. The links are easy to remove, which I did in order to put the buckle on(which is sold separately). The size I bought does fit nicely over my dogs head but I wanted the collar to also have a quick release.
