The setup is super-easy if you are on WEP security. If you are using WPA, this requires you to upgrade to WEP before it will work. Otherwise when you go to set it up it will simply hang and refuse to accept your password. So, after working through that (go to 198.68.1.1 address or 192.68.10.1, enter the password on the back of your router, go to advanced security settings and set up WEP), the setup will be super-easy. And so far, the signal is great. I am replacing my old netgear extender (easier setup and works on WPA, but dropped the signal all the time). Will report back on this one again after it has been in use a while. (WEP setup instructions are also in the back of the nice Victony startup manual----under FAQs.)UPDATE April 2018: Still working great, and was easy setup when I installed a new network.

What a complete and total waste of money. Yes, it did connect to my network but would drop signal frequently even when placed optimally and channel changed as recommended. By comparison, the Google Wifi that replaced the Victurdy has worked flawlessly and setup was effrotless. Yes, a huge cost differential but well worth it in the long run when frustration and performance are factored in. Tech support was initially responsive but only offered suggestions for positioning and channel change that had no effect. When a request for return for refund was submitted, support went silent. Avoid this device unless you have surplus leisure time in need of disposing.

Our wireless router is situated in a side room on the second floor, so we had hard time getting WiFi reception at the basement and for the living room's first generation Amazon Fire TV stick on the other side of ground floor.I've placed the extender in the middle of the ground floor and voila - let it be WiFi! I've managed to get 7Mbps download speed a spot in the basement where I couldn't even get 0.024Mbps earlier...Few notes:Installation was very easy (although I'm relatively a tech-savvy user) but there are some spelling issues here and there, which is a shame. Guys, get a $5 freelancer on fiverr.com to check your English and the product would look a lot more professional.When the WiFi extender is not in use, you would get relatively weak WiFi signal (2/5 bars of WiFi). Once connected, it goes higher to 4 or 5 bars - I'm not sure if it's a flaw or design - but it did initially me to question the product's quality.Overall, great product for the price.

It works if you just want to extend your wifi however it does not perform 300mbps as advertised. Our internet speed is 100/100mbps I have tested it near and away from my main router and it only gets up to 30mbps or less. My wifi connection is much faster connecting to my main router.

The extender that I purchased did not work so they sent me a replacement which worked for about 6 months so I contacted them again and exchanged 20-30 emails for >2 months they finally said that they will send me another one and asked me for info (name, address,....). That was 2 weeks ago and they have ignored the 3 subsequent emails that I sent them. Bottom line, customer support is good when THEY WANT IT TO BE, the product not very good since I've had 2, 1 didn't not work from the get go, the other stopped working after a few months. I would stay away from Victony products.

Worked at the beginning, a few weeks. Never again. Crap... It’s very frustrating when you buy something that just doesn’t deliver on their promise to the customer. Does the manufacturer understands we spend precious time reviewing countless options and finally give them them the privilege of actually receiving our hard-earned money... FOR THIS?!?

Installed in July 2017. Worked fine until November. Was working fine at 7 pm on Nov 6th and at 7am on the 7th showed strong connection to the network but attempts to connect to the internet failed. Changed WF connection to router (not thru range extender) and connected to internet with no problems. Several test connections comfirmed that the victony had a strong connection to the network but could not support connection to internet. Have reset several times but result always the same -strong network but no internet.UGWYP4.

This extender works fine most of the time. However, I find that it loses connection from time to time. I use this extender for my study, and unfortunately I had to use it for a full work day once and had to restart the extender three times. I don't think I faced this many problems with another extender I used to have.
