what a waste of time and effort this was. so many things wrong - first of all be prepared to sign up for ten dollars a month for the rest of your life for endless subscription fee. so fine, pay the ten bucks to start then set it up and watch it time out over and over, then finally you navigate through the not-user-friendly-at-all interface and after a half an hour you get a song to play but the lag time from the mic is a half a second so it sounds plain horrible. then you find out in the troubleshooting guide that the HDMI output is really no good at all because if you want it to work right you have to use the old fashioned 5-cable audio/video plugs. so you go find some plugs in the box of useless junk that you should never need again but never threw away and set it up like it was 10 years ago and then the wifi connection has fallen out and you have to set that up again but then the song you are trying to download has timed out and you have to clear the memory and try again... And if you had high hopes of using this with your nice PA system so you can really rock out, forget it. There is no interface for that at all. you get the HDMI-that-doesn't-work output of the RCA-10-yeara-old option, and thats it. sound quality was like AM radio. Audio is intermittent. video hangs up and goes out of sync with audio. JUNK

Admittedly, I was a bit skeptical at first when I saw all the features that the HDK Box 2.0 offered, but then I saw some of the customer reviews and decided to give it a shot. If anything, I underestimated just how good this unit is when it comes to the song selection, new updates, and fantastic video quality. The HDK Box 2.0 comes with a mobile app that can be used to control all the operations which makes running it real simple. I run karaoke events on the side for parties, company events, and the like and this relatively simply device offers a considerable amount of features. Most importantly is the song selection with over 7,000 to start with which are fully licensed and are augmented regularly. I have a USB device to store the songs for playback and one of the great features is being able to record your own voice and then upload the results to Facebook. I cannot say enough about how versatile the HDK Box 2.0 is when it comes to the number of songs, the excellent HD quality video, and the ability to record a great take and upload it for everyone to see and hear. All that is needed is an internet connection which is simple enough where I go to perform. For anyone who loves karaoke and event those who have a side business this is a truly great karaoke machine. I cannot recommend it highly enough and I’m sure you’ll be impressed as well.

Wanted to like this product. It's unfortunately not ready for prime time. Very glitchy. The online library has few songs in English. Karaoke files from other sources did not work very well. Bought for girl's 10th birthday party. After playing with it for a week we ditched the karaoke machine and plugged the microphones into an amp and let the girls sing along with karaoke videos on YouTube. Customer service was very helpful. Improvements could make this a great product.

After trying it out for a week, I had to send it back. About half the songs which I assume have not had the "hi-def" digital conversion keep pausing during playback, making singing impossible.Other songs which have been converted to high def digital perform fine.Unfortunately, there aren't a great selections of songs that we like to sing.The android app is barely functional but did not meet my expectations.I tried to use my CDG disks but the conversion process to get it work on this thing is way too cumbersome, I have to convert to mp3+g, then zip it, then all songs must be on the same exact folder, making searches for a song during parties a nightmare, also USB must be on a FAT32 USB drive.Way to much work to make it acceptable to my needs. Unable to use it for my needs. Maybe in a year the company can work out these bugs and have a better song selection and then I'll try it again.

I have been trying to get familiar with this HDK Box 2.0 for the last 4 days. This HDK Box seems to be easy to manipulate after I got familiar with the controls using iPhone, iPad or Remote Control. However, the internal hardware drive got a "disk error" after the 2nd day which I could not save any song into the hard drive. Otherwise, all the other karaoke functions work great. I talked to the HDK technical support on line and decided to return and replace the unit through Amazon. I like Free and 1-day Shipping offered from Amazon. Hopefully, this is just one of a kind anomaly. There are some functions which can be improved for future software upgrade:(1) Hide the HDK WIFI network password from the TV display(2) Provide capability to display or search the Artist/Singer names in alphabetical order; current HDK only allows song title to be displayed or searched in alphabetical order(3) All songs vocal should be defaulted to be the same. I noticed that some songs Vocal defaulted to be ON while some songs Vocal defaulted to be OFF and some song Vocal have the ON/OFF reversed(4) Show WIFI signal strength on TV. It takes more than 30 seconds for the HDK to log into the WIFI network. I am not sure if it is because of the signal strength or the HDS itself. All the other WIFI equipment in the vicinity do not have the same issue.I may change the rating after I receive the replacement.4/8/2017 updateI received the replacement within 24 hours after I submitted the exchange request. My wife did enjoy using this HDK Box after she got familiar with all the features. The Chinese symbol input in addition to English to search for song or singer is a plus.
