Each new batch of chickens introduced to the flock get a color for the year the were born (2024 was orange) and an additional band in a different color so I can tell them apart for health reasons.

After trying several bands for chickens and ducks these are my favorite. I band birds in selective colors for age and breed. I place up to 2 bands per leg, color log kept helps with breed and age (clutch). Make sure you select correct size for breed size of bird.Only negative thing I can say is they do fade to a lighter color over time.Easy to apply and the spiral application makes them not "dig" into the legs if they out grow them.

I was trying to duplicate a recipe book from 50 years ago and the binder on it was these chicken clips. So glad to have found them.

I like these leg bands because I know they won't come off.

I wanted to keep track of my cockerels to see which one I would want to keep as my rooster. These things were too small for my birds who are dual purpose (meat/egg) so they’re bigger. The rings were too small for my biggest birds leg so that he was limping and pecking at it and a couple times jumped /squawked when the sharp pointed end dug into his leg.

Used these on my future layers and they work great!
