Not our carrier of choice- restricting, awkward to wear, and silly looking.
We have several types of wearable dog carriers, and I've always thought it would be cool to have a front facing carrier, similar to those we use with human babies. While our backpack style carriers offer the most mobility and versatility I like to be able to see my dog when I am wearing them, so to speak. It turns out, after testing all these models, we find the side or 'crossbody' style sling carrier works the best for us.We have a 7.5lb, 4 year old, maltese-yorkie female mix. She is very used to and comfortable in types of carriers, and when she was a puppy she was even 'wrapped' much like an infant sling, and carried around. She gets very excited when she sees people and wants to greet everybody. This carrier's sizing was good for us. We found our dog fit with some wiggle room- I felt, instantly, that having pressure on her hips and tail- from her four legs dangling out, was going to get uncomfortable quick. She did not like being so confined. It's one thing to feel all your limbs against you in a sling, or have mobility in a backpack- but to have your legs straight out through slots was not natural for her.We also found the straps needed to be criss-crossed in the back for a comfortable wear- and this meant that the straps were really only long enough for Jenna to wear. The straps are nylon and thin, and with any wiggling from your dog you are going to feel movement. We could not keep our dog 'happy' in this sling for more than 5-10 minutes. I have tried on numerous occasions and she either struggles to get comfortable or gives up and looks 'shamed.'This might be good for young puppies, such as teacup yorkies- but I worry that the holes for the body are so rigid in spacing it would be just as confining and awkward for even a younger or smaller dog. I did receive the item for free in hopes I would share my honest thoughts, which I have done.
