Review: Amazing sport's smartwatvh and a great dive computer - I'm going to the gym 3-4 times a week, pool swimming once a week, and occasionally do some recreational diving and hiking. The great thing a find about this watch is that it supports all of my activities in a great way, and they do not feel like an after thought! Day to day: It can track jogging and running in a pretty accurate way. It also contains different running plans that you can follow that i find refreshing. When weight lifting, it tracks the reps and can even guess what exercise is being preformed (this on is about 70% accurate). During hiking it can track your position using GPS, and show you some sort of map (Doesn't have any details beside a line that shows you your own rout) which i find great. The display for everything is good and informative, and it can be customized to your liking in most cases. The app integration is great, and it shows all the data you would probably expect from a high tier smartwatch these days including sleep tracking, calories counter, steps counter, HR analysis etc (You can also view most of this stuff on the watch itself). Recreational diving: This little guy is great, and the only real downside i can find is the lack of Air integration but due to the price, i guess its understandable. Had 13 dives with this guys so far, and so far so good. The screen is informative and on point. It has built in features like a compass, temperature, TTS, Customable warnings (Max depth etc), Safety stop auto timer, Entry and exist points coordination etc. Now this guy is small. Its size is of a normal casio watch, and i know some divers have issue with that but for me it works great. Had no issue viewing all the info even at 25 meters depth. The diving part has a specific app of its own and its fine. Nothing special bout it. I just wish it had a way of integrating easly with SSI & PADI apps, since i track all of my dives there (SSI in may case), and like transporting dives from one app to the other would make my life a bit easier =)
Review: Everything I wanted in a watch - My battery lasts approximately 21 days; however if you use any GPS features or log activities then your battery life will drain faster. This watch and the app are incredibly user friendly and I have had no issues. I haven't taken this on any deep dives but I will attest to it's durability in the shallow dives I've been on and also it's tolerance to bleach. I work at an aquaculture job where I regularly handle bleach and have thankfully never experienced any issues. Perfect watch for water sports as I can also log any kayaking or SUP trips I take; however, I do have trouble logging rock climbing activities with the watch. It logs my sleep with relative accuracy, sometimes when I am laying in bed scrolling on my phone it believes that I am lightly sleeping but I didn't purchase the watch for 100% accurate sleep cycle measurements.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: As an everyday watch, how does this compare to something like the forerunner 245?**
A: Both are smart, multi sport watches. This means I can receive my calls, texts, smart notifications, as well as log my runs, bike rides and more activities.

Differences -

The forerunner 245 is designed with running as priority 1, and the G1 with diving as priority 1. There are no dive modes on FR 245. FR 245 will be lighter because of this, and additionally the FR 245 has a color screen.

On the G1 you get a monochrome screen..but much better batter life(4 months on solar). The water rating is also much superior.

Hope that helps!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great battery life
*by J***H on April 18, 2022*

I'm an occasional (one or two trips per year) single-gas recreational diver, and I wanted an all-purpose activity, health and sleep tracking watch that could also serve as a solid backup dive computer. I was coming from an Apple watch that needed charging at least every 24 hours, which finally got too annoying. I'm 10 days in with this G1 now and am loving it so far. I haven't plugged this watch in since bringing it to a full charge after unboxing it, and it's still telling me I have six days, or 25 percent, battery life left. The solar charging capability is pretty nifty -- I was out in the sun a lot this weekend, and my battery level was exactly the same this morning (Monday) as it was when I woke up on Saturday. The activity/health/sleep tracking seems pretty accurate so far. The watch feels well-made and looks good on my wrist (in my opinion). No complaints with it yet. The big caveat is that I haven't had a chance to dive with it yet. I have dives upcoming over the next three months, so I will edit my review once I've had the watch in the water. I have checked out the dive functions, and it seems well thought out, with all the info I need displayed clearly in large type on three screens that you can cycle through by double-tapping the watch face. As long as it functions at depth the way it has while learning it on land, and as long as it's as readable underwater as it appears it will be, it should be a great dive watch as well. Update: I just did four dives with the G1, using it as a backup to my Shearwater Peregrine. It was great. Screen visibility was excellent despite the small watch face. I’m starting to need readers in low light situations these days, so this was my main concern. But the display was crystal clear and perfectly readable. The recreation dive screens are well designed. G1 uses the same decompression algorithm as my Shearwater, and the dive data in both logs was the same.
