Not sure what it is???,,
Completely awful. Compared to other cacao powders, this is especially terrible. A raw, husky flavor and mouthfeel. As professional pastry chef for 25 years, should have seen issue in light color, but baked brownies for sick friend and threw them out. One would need to chew this powder. DO NOT USE!!

Yummmmmmmmmmm.........
The BEST chocolate flavor. I had tried another brand which had very little chocolate fragrance and very little chocolate flavor. This brand is bursting with flavor! I made my sister some hot chocolate with it using half and half (ahhhh, the good life!). It was outstanding. Tasted very much like what we used to drink when we were kids but using whole milk back then. I use some chocolate meal replacements and I ALWAYS add a heaping teaspoon of this chocolate. It masks the other weak flavors, and since some of my meal replacements have Stevia (which has an aftertaste to me) I like it that the chocolate dims down the aftertaste as well. This solved my desire for dark chocolate candy bars! And if I want to make treats, I can use this with birch xylitol instead of sugar. They hit a home run with this cacao powder. I want to say to my friends that are talking about Fair Trade and cancer-causing stuff, I'm apologizing. I hope I don't use so much that it is going to affect me. It certainly boosts my mood and energy!

TruVibe will donate for each written review! Organic, fresh and potent. Tastes great in my supplement shakes!
This TruVibe Cacao Powder is a great deal. I mix it in with Almost Milk and other supplements for a nutritional shake. The cacao appears to be raw, fresh and potent, adding a nice chocolaty flavor to my shakes. It's not too gritty and mixes reasonably well (cacao doesn't mix with liquids well in general). I would definitely buy again.Great energy shake recipe:CacaoAlmost milkChia SeedsCoconut SugarHoneyFantastic Cacao Chia Seed Avocado pudding (Avocado makes pudding super rich n creamy without leaving taste)1/4 cup Cacao3 Tablespoons Chia Seeds1 Banana1 Avocado3 Tablespoon Coconut oil1 teaspoon vanilla extract or 3 tablespoon honey (optional, depends how sweet you like it)1 1/2 cup Almond/Coconut milk (vanila flavor if no vanilla extract)If you love the chia seed texture (like topioca balls), blend everything else then add chia seeds and let sit for 8 hours in fridge (mix from time to time). Otherwise you can just blend everything, this will break up the chia seeds. If you are missing anything, just make it anyway. It's still great pudding only with Cacao, Chia Seeds and Almond Milk + your favorite sweetener. It's heavenly!Update 10/24/2015I just received an Email from TruVibe "needs your help". The Email states"As a company TruVibe Organics is committed to giving back to the global community as 1% for the planet members. In addition, for each review posted on Amazon, we will donate $5.00 to Feed The Children, a non-profit organization dedicated to ending childhood hunger around the world. Each dollar donated is multiplied by 5 through corporate partnerships."If it's true, I think that is a significant contribution TruVibe is making to the world community and I wish I could raise my review to 6 stars. Makes it a no brainer to purchase TruVibe products and write a review, you can think of your review as a donation too!

This batch is gross! Chemical tasting!
I have purchased this before but this time, it has a very chemical like taste. Tried to get a refund or replacement but it's not offered by Amazon so I guess I am stuck with a bag of cacoa that is dreadfully inedible. Cannot get anyone from the company to respond!

The Worst Cacao Powder I've Ever Tried
I'm a big fan of cacao and have tried a number of different brands. My personal favorite is Pure Natural Miracles Raw Organic Cacao Powder, Best Unsweetened Cocoa, 100% USDA Certified . It's of much higher quality than this product, but I was looking to save a few dollars by purchasing this one. As the saying goes, you get what you pay for.Upon first opening the bag, I noticed that the cacao inside had a lifeless, light brown coloring to it. This was the first major red flag. With other high quality cacao powders that I've used before, the color is a rich, dark, orange-brown.After making the first drink with it, I noticed that the taste was completely off. I can't quite put my finger on it, but it's a taste of soil and / or mold. Whenever I add this cacao to a smoothie, its "off" taste overpowers everything else and makes me gag. Finally, I also noticed that this cacao is not of single-origin. As stated on the back of the package, it is a "Product of Peru, Indonesia, and Ecuador." This reminds me of the cheap, low-quality olive oils out there that are from several different countries. MAJOR red flag.If a potential buyer is reading this review, I strongly suggest that you look elsewhere. If the seller is reading this review, please find a way to improve the quality of your cacao.

Great Cacao Powder!
I recently started making a cup of warm "hot" chocolate in the morning instead of coffee. I wanted a product that was organic and fair trade. Out of the three brands I've tried so far, this one is by far the best. The flavor, while slightly bitter, is less bitter than others. I make my hot chocolate with 8-10oz of unsweetened almond milk and 1.5 tablespoons of cacao powder. (No sugar or other sweeteners) At fairly low temperatures, this cacao powder mixes quickly and readily - I use a battery operated milk frother to mix it. My children tell me that without sweetener it is undrinkable, but I find this brand to be very palatable - I have to stop myself from drinking multiple cups all day!The only issue I have with this product, and it is true of all the similar products that I've seen, is the packaging is extremely plastic heavy. I'd prefer packaging that was more recyclable.
