I prefer to use the 24 hour format. When it is actually 1:15PM will it record the time as 13.25?

Yes the clock can record time in the military/24 hour format. I consulted the manual and what you have to do is the following: 1.) Push the setup switch to the right to get the clock in set up mode. 2.) Go to setting "03" and hit "Enter". 3.) In setting 3 hit "+" and "Enter" to select "24" for military time. This will make the change for you. Note that the setting mode will advance to "04" and you will either need to continue to the next steps or slide the setting switch to the left to exit setting mode. If you need additional assistance, you can contact Pyramid technical support at (203) 238-0550 and they can help to walk you through the process.

Our mechanics have two short breaks and a lunch break, so I need four in/out punches. Would I just use a second card for the same day?

Do i have to pay to use

No, there is no subscription service with this time clock. You will only need to buy additional time cards and ribbons moving forward.

Can two of these be synced together so that a person can clock in at one and then clock out at another?

Two 2500 time clocks cannot be synched together for the time. You can do your best to program them to the same time but they will never be 100% accurate. You really need to go to a time clock system with software in order to be able to accurately synch two different time clocks to the exact same time.
