They are definitely more like a trivit
I should have listened to the previous review.... They are definitely more like a trivit. Useless unless you are placing under clear glass plate. Very small. Otherwise they would be nice if they were large enough to be placemats. I will not return them put use them as a trivit under cold service dishes.
