Ramiko Bicycle Front Wheel Axle Kit (3/8inch x 26T x 140mm)

I had to build a custom front axle for my old Schwinn Twinn which came with a goofy 3/8"x24T axle so that I could replace the worn out cones. This worked great, perfect length, just had to file flats on the axle to make it into a slotted axle, since those are no longer made.

Axel is satisfactory. I had a professional install it for me and and it works fine. The drawback is the hub/dustcover was smaller than the one on my GMC topkick bike, but the mechanic just used the old ones which threaded onto this axel just fine. The reason I bought this axel was to replace the quick release axel which did nothing but make it convenient for some knucklehead to borrow the front wheel. This axel should be sufficient to prevent this.
