The #1 problem with Keurig K-Cup Brewers is that the brewer hollow water needle gets clogged. This happens because the brewer water needle dips directly into the coffee grounds. Adding to the clogging problem is the messy coffee grounds that collect in the pod holder and brewer that is caused by the internal K-Cup pressure that puffs some of the coffee grounds out into the hollow water needle, pod holder and brewer. How it works: The Pre Punch punches a hole in the top center foil of the K-Cup at a depth and circumference larger than the brewer hollow water needle therefore the water needle stays clear of clogging coffee grounds.
