Finally some links about the brain and effects of early baby movements & stimulation on development!
Harald Blomberg and Moira Dempsey explain what should happen in the developing brain and body in an easy to understand way. They highlight why a lack of both movement experiences and normal rhythmical baby movements wreak havoc on the developing nervous system and how this lack of input can lead to problems with attention, emotional regulation, motor challenges, etc. Connections are made in regards to how the retention of some of the key primitive reflexes can adversely affect both emotional and physical development, and how we can help people to remediate these problems. Truly a remedial approach that helps to "fix the foundation" to help a vast array of challenges. If we don't focus on helping to stimulate the formation of new brain connections and integrating retained primtive reflexes, our foundation will still remain "shaky" and we will still experience problems with various aspects of development. This book is a great resource to have when completing the Rhythmic Movement Training courses because it gives a greater background into why movements that seem "so simple" can have such profound effects in the body. I highly recommend it!

Fascinting book
I found this book amazing. However, I think I would struggle with parts of it if I wasn't a health professional with training in neuroanatomy. People without that background might want to skips parts of it. People without an interest in the Swedish health system might want to skip other parts. But as a health professional, I found it compellingly thought out, ground breaking, and seriously important. "Revolutionary" isn't too strong a word. I want to learn as much as I can about this now; my patients need me to. Base on other reviews I started reading at chapter 5, but then I went back and read all of it. So glad I did.

the most informative book ever
This book is an extremely informative and interesting read for anyone working with children or adults who have issues with learning. Harold Blomberg describes how a variety of difficulties are the result of interference or inadequate early development. This book makes total sense and should be a compulsory read for every parent and every teacher.

Evil, evil, evil thief! Beware!
Harald Blomberg is a quack, a hack, a huckster, a shark, a ruthless thief. My wife came back from one of his classes (taught by the Dr himself) with all this hooey about resetting muscles by flicking your fingers on the upper arm, testing for gluten sensitivity by holding a bag of gluten against her stomach, etc. Just a bunch of nonsense. He tricks poor, desperate people into believing that this stuff actually works. The instructions included things like apply 2 pounds of pressure against an outstretched arm and have the person tell a lie, then reset the muscle and have them tell the truth... as if the person doing the testing knows the difference between 2 pounds and three pounds, and the "customer" isn't hoping that it'll work, too. No blind testing, no clinical testing! Just autosuggestion. He's no better than a stage performer who looks for people in the audience who are more eager for his tricks to work. Even in his CV he admits to studying with hypnotists! Please, please, please do not give this man any money, do not buy his books, do not go to his seminars! He should be ashamed of himself.

Like Arthur Janovs Primal Therapy it is about a natural ...
The book provides a fascinating insight into Harald Blomberg's long journey to research and develop treatments in autism. The tool he developed consists of physiologically and psychologically deep acting micro-movements. Like Arthur Janovs Primal Therapy it is about a natural method to unlock deep seated blockages and imprints. Established psychiatrists and psychologists, who are authoritatively dependent on symptoms manuals and Big Pharma, typically avoid Harald Blomberg.Jan Johnsson

For any one with a special needs or wiggley child!
This is a great book for parents of children who have ADHD, ASD, CP, and even reading difficulties. He explains how the infant reflexes can sometimes still be present and how it may affect how the body functions and behaves. Very informative. There was only one slight issue I had with the book. He spends a lot of time trying to negate the Swiss government's position on ADHD and medication. Overall this is a great book once you get passed the first couple of chapters. Easy to read with pictures of some of the movements to help individuals work with those in need.

The book that I had been looking for!
I had been researching on my own for over a year how movements influence learning. During my search I had run across reflexes and had been reading as many books that I could fine on the subject. Just when I thought I had exhausted my search, I found Dr. Blomberg's book, which filled in some of the gaps. I have since been able to take a couple of courses from Dr. Blomberg and use these methods with my children and students who have learning challenges.
