Green Berets - PC/Mac

If you happened to be a hardcore fan of the Myth games then this is one title that I feel is most worth adding to your memorabilia. Rather than the action-packed and fantasy-based gaming of the previous Myth titles being set in a medieval and fairytale world, this time it is set in Vietnam during the time of the famous war there. This time its all down to the US forces and all guns blazing against an evil viet cong adversary, in the Vietnam jungle. Great fun for anyone who is into such vintage strategy war games on pc and mac. But if you do want to play it remember most importantly to either have the correctly compatible vintage pc or mac which will run it, or unfortunately you will never get to play. As I say, an absolutely brilliant game for anyone who loves old mac games. Just make sure you have either a mac os 9 computer or windows 95/98.

The AI seems like the developers could have spent a little more time working on. Basically a very well done mod of Myth II. But still just a mod though. Missions are hard in that the objectives given are pretty vague and inconsequential.Good game for any Myth II fan to have as a mod but if I had to choose which was done and plays better. . . Myth II hands down.

The games does not work on the Mac OS X Capitan 10.11. Amazon need to does better job explaining the operation systems.

Very few games use a Viet Nam war theme. As a Viet Nam infantry vet I look hard for games from my war experience. I am a fan of Myth so the engine and game play were familure to me. Although this is not an outstanding game it was very playable and just plain fun. On the normal level it was somewhat challenging and with saves beatable. Some of the weapons were enjoyable and took some skill to master. The M79 granade launcher (Blooper)was one. The hand grandes were fun as well. The enemy morters were deadly. I would reccommend it to those who enjoyed the Myth experience but want to play a Viet Nam War adventure. The major game magizines rated it lower then this. I truly think that the reviewers had no Viet Nam War refrence to get that extra emotional kick a vet would have when playing it. This may be a good gift for a vet who is also a gamer.Dareing Bravo 6 Kilo this is LP 1. I'v got movment to my front. I'm blowing a claymore! LP 1 out.

This game is great! Graphics are wonderful and set the mood perfectly. I've renamed my squad members as myself and my buddies and for the past week I've been transported to 1960's Viet-Nam nightly. I find Green Berets much more interesting than the somewhat stale dwarves and wizards world of Myth II. Graphics are better as well. The scenarios are tough even set on Timid and I'd hate to see what they'd be like on the Legendary level! This game really gives you the feel of small unit jungle combat! You'll have the time of your life sneaking your men from tree to tree trying to get close enough to plant the charges or zigzagging to avoid incoming mortar rounds. You can even save films of your missions and replay them. You can speed these up or slow them down for Peckinpah-style action. If you're tired of fantasy battles, go for this one!

What can I say that hasn't already been said by the previous reviews? They are right on in their assessment. The game is awesome, especially for the price. Not many have played it, but it is high quality all the way. Enjoy!
