It's pretty much dirt, ok? If you want to eat it- have at it.It looks like clay, I just opened the bag to check, and there is nodiscernable scent.I'm using this for a scientific (entomology) purpose, and this was therecommended material for my purpose.Realistically, where I live, I might have been able to go outside and get a verysimilar material, but- if you had invested as much money as I have in this project,you would take no chances.
