I purchased the cleanse bar as I have typically acne prone oily skin. I have only been using this product about a week, but wanted to write a review since there are so few right now and may update after long-term use. I have also been using hibar shampoo and conditioner bars for nearly 2 years, so I am familiar with their products. I typically wet my face and then rub the face wash bar in my hand and then apply to my face with my hands. It has almost a milky feel to it when applied and does not suds up. I use a foreo luna device and as long as I use enough product, it is able to move smoothly around my face; however, I do notice that due to the milky consistency, if I stay focused on one spot for very long it doesn't slide around any longer. After I rinse my face, my skin feels smooth and normal? It doesn't feel dry or tight or anything which is nice. The bar does seem to stay a bit moist, which the packaging indicates is normal, but does also result in a bit of the product sticking to the wire shelf it sits on, but that hasn't been much of an issue yet, but could make it tricky for use when traveling. After a week of use, no immediate breakouts or reactions, which I consider a win with my skin. It appears to do a good job of removing make-up with my luna at the end of the day.

I love this brand and the cleanser is gentle and is quite aggreablw with my sensitive face. The only thing is that the bar is very soft and comes apart really easily, which is annoying in the shower.

I wanted to love this. I love Hi-Bar shampoo and had high expectations for the face wash! For an unscented product, it had a very strong glycerin scent. I know that’s just the ingredient, but I couldn’t handle it. I tried giving it to another family member, but they felt the same. I was disappointed.

I just used the bar and it feels great. My skin feels nice, clean and fresh. I use the shampoo bars and was excited to try this too. I haven’t yet experienced the wetness that others are indicating but I have it on a soap dish that will allow it to drain. But so far so good!

This is a gentle cleanser with some exfoliating properties in non-plastic packaging. Was pleasantly surprised for the price, and will probably be hooked on this product for awhile!

UPDATE: I've now gone through another face bar that the seller sent me following their product update to dix the issue. Unfortunately, it was no better. It wasn't a mess right out of the box, but it still didn't last past 2 weeks and has the same wet oatmeal consistency from before. I'm reducing my rating to 1 star since this bar still isn't ready for prime time. The picture is of the bar the first week of use in June 2022.I'll start by saying that I absolutely love how soft my face feels after using the bar face soap. I have no complaints about how well it works to gently exfoliate.What knocks this down a couple stars is the fact that it stays mushy and never hardens back up even after sitting there for days untouched. It was mushy right out of the box, so it wasn't because of water that it's become this way either. It immediately stuck to my hands and I had to wash them as soon as I removed it from the box the day I received it. A week later, it's still mushy. Maybe I should stick it in the freezer/fridge? I honestly don't know at this point and it's so frustrating since I'm seeing it dwindle away rapidly. At this rate, it won't even last a few weeks, vs 2-3 months of the shampoo bars that get daily use. I have no issues with the shampoo/conditioner bars, so whatever they did to change how these bars are made hasn't worked out very well and the consistency is that of a permanently waterlogged bar of soap.

Product arrived partially melted so I put it in the refrigerator for a few hours. It somewhat firmed up but didn’t hold its shape after I tried using it and disintegrated in a few days, even though it was properly stored away from moisture. I noticed the other reviewer here mentioned the same problem, so it looks like it’s not an isolated incident. It’s really too bad, because I was so eager to try this product, I am a huge fan of the HiBar shampoo and conditioner bars and was excited to try the new facial bar. If anyone from HiBar is reading this review, my suggestion would be to add something to make the product more solid, like the shampoo bars, which last for several months when properly stored. I would also like to see them add some mild essential oil fragrance such as rose or lavender. I understand why they chose to make the facial bars unscented, however unscented products such as this often have a rancid off smell from the oils used to manufacture the product, a little bit of essential oil would certainly mask that. I look forward to seeing an improved product in the future.
